I don't know if Fiat users are mentall ill, maybe institutionalized is a better politically correct term.
Institutionalized is just a clever euphemism for indoctrinated. This is abusing language to avoid facing the obvious ethical horror of socially engineering children during formative years.

You have been lied to your whole life, by people who have been lied to their entire lives, and so on, generation after generation, because of a continued failing of basic ethics.

Yes, that could be a better term for it, Indoctrination.  Generations upon generations being told what is "money" and trust the central authorities in place.

If you're not a self thinker, and believe everything that's written and spoken on the boob tube, then sure this can be dangerous and unexpected when something like Greece happens.  If you can form your ideas, and see the big picture, then nothing that will occur soon should come as a shock, when the mighty Fiat finally succumbs...

An unhealthy obsession with money could make you mentally and physically ill so take care.

Well, I'd think there are more mentally ill Fiat users than Bitcoin users, if you're talking about raw numbers.

If you talk about percentages... Well...  Lips sealed

It's a stupid discussion anyway, not worth the space on this board.

I don't know if Fiat users are mentall ill, maybe institutionalized is a better politically correct term.

There's inherently wrong with the Fiat system, it is what it is, people use it, transact with it, without knowing whether it's backed by anything or if there's a paradigm shift to a digital currency that coming sooner than they'd like.

If say the President of the USA or the Fed Chairman were to say the US dollar is being supplanted in 10-15 years, start hoarding some digital currency, before all fiat currency collapses, you'd know every US citizen would start going to Bitcoin.org to find out more about BTC and Crypto.  Start building up stashes after going on Coinbase and Circle.

That said, this is all people know, so I can't say that's they're "Mentally Ill", if this is what people truly believe and all they know about money.  It'll take something truly disastrous to wake people up like a crashing dollar, and see what the future brings, and to eventually jump on board before it's too late.

Just because they don't acknowledge bitcoin, does not make them Mentally ill Tongue

By what standard, maybe not mentally ill but definately not paying any attention to whats actually happening in life.  These people cost society.

We can't have a real demographic. What do you mean by fiat? everyone uses fiat. Who the hell goes through life without using fiat money? except pioneers like Andreas.

All of us. All capitalists are mad, it is the mostly obscured but ever-present violence that makes us this way. Here I will provide three choice quotes from one of my favorite intellectuals, Michel Foucault.

“The strategic adversary is fascism... the fascism in us all, in our heads and in our everyday behavior, the fascism that causes us to love power, to desire the very thing that dominates and exploits us.”

“...if you are not like everybody else, then you are abnormal, if you are abnormal , then you are sick. These three categories, not being like everybody else, not being normal and being sick are in fact very different but have been reduced to the same thing”

“The real political task in a society such as ours is to criticize the workings of institutions that appear to be both neutral and independent, to criticize and attack them in such a manner that the political violence that has always exercised itself obscurely through them will be unmasked, so that one can fight against them.”

"A mental disorder, also called a mental illness or psychiatric disorder, is a mental or behavioral pattern or anomaly that causes either suffering or an impaired ability to function in ordinary life"

Fiat is used to extend and promote wars, which tends to result in suffering. Thus, people who use fiat (behavioral pattern) cause suffering. Thus they are, ipso facto, mentally ill.

That causes suffering to themselves, not to others. Therefore, people using fiat does nothing to tell whether they are mentally ill.

War hurts everyone.

I like Bitcoin but that doesn't mean I give up fiat for regular use. If anything, I don't see them as competitors. Bitcoin is a good investment option but not much of a payment option as of now.

it always takes time from a innovation till entering people's lives or in other words mass acceptance and usage. it is always been like this and always will be
