It won't transfer back to bitcoin. Alts are going to go from strength to strength. Partly because some are innovative. Parly because alts are volatile so offer trading opportunities.

Lots of exchanges even allow you to trade some alts directly for fiat, bypassing bitcoin.

Hey, you mind sharing a few exchanges that allow you to trade alts directly for fiat
I haven't used it yet, but I heard there's a new one called Bisq.

- Extended altcoin-run ? Every alts are having correction along with bitcoin right now.
- Bitcoin price can easily recover from current correction and in no time it can go over $14k but we should wait for all weak hands to dump their coins.
- Hold all your coins without panicing, price will recover soon.

For me most probably, because of the demand of the investors and the holders of that altcoins so it's not okay to where it goes. And if they will indemand someday or in the coming days I think you would be sure no matter what you're planning for.

Yeah i kind of got interested in that as well. I think there are some that supports etherium to fiat trading but other alts always have to go through btc. It would be really helpful if we can directly buy alts from our credit or debit cards.

I don’t think BTC price dipped because money flow to altcoin. The overall market cap decreased because of the negative headlines. IMO, BTC will most likely recover, just a matter of time.

never? alts have been getting stronger since 2015. it's clear that many noobs have no interest in bitcoin. all they want to do is gamble at the alt casino.

it's dumb to think money would unite behind one coin, especially one that isn't interested in the things other coins are. it's not a threat to bitcoin, it's an expansion of crypto in general.

This has been an extended alt coin run and with BTC below $14,000 how much longer will this last before the profits come back to BTC and the price surges again? Any informed opinions?
In a way I want it to stay low so everyone can grow up and realize that crypto is not going to be free money 24/7 and there is considerable risk involved. But I'm not going to say that it should stay low.

There is no altcoin run right now, this is essentially how it looks when Bitcoin is "normal"; the other altcoins move freely based on speculation, there is some normal movement with Bitcoin and some alts are up, some are down. If there was some kind of altcoin bull run going on right now a majority of the altcoin market would be in the green; it's not like that at all right now. It's the Bitcoin market slowing and dipping as there becomes less patient or convince investors in the community.
New in alts might want their investments to grow too fast withoit thwm kmowing that this is their opportunity to collect more, havong btc at this price is a good start to buy btc since ws all kmew how it's applicable to arise soon, already did some buy since the price drops.

Yes, BTC dominance is at all time low, 33%, this could mean the beginning of the end of bitcoin or a great opportunity to go back from alts to Bitcoin which could be about to break up to the upside. Which of the two?

The end of BTC, seriously? Come on that's not happening anytime soon if ever.

It's hard to say at this point, but there is some stability. Of course there isn't any stable growth, but it's not drastically growing or jumping either. So it itself has become more stable. But I think there's gonna be growth this year in any case.

Alternative coins have come to stay, so bitcoin and alternative coins will  co-exist. You just have to invest in any one you feel it is promising.

In my opinion it doesnt matter. It is alt season right now. So you can try to raise bitcoins that you have. So when bitcoin will go to moon again you will have much more money. But until summer this year we can see bitcoin $100.000 levels.

In my opinion alt season just started. Look at the charts of some altcoins last year, they had their ATH in july/august. But this year alt season might be a bit longer.

it is inevitable that there's going to be an altcoin exodus, people will cash out their altcoins gains and money will flow back into bitcoin at some point in the future, but it is really hard to predict exactly when is going to happen.

But in my opinion, I don't see it happening any time soon, alts have gained a lot of momentum over the past few weeks, people want to make some quick money and alts give you the opportunity to do so since you can gain some profits from hype/shitty altcoins. So unless something big happens like an announcement of a btc fork, more lightning network news, or more segwit adoption, the altcoin run will continue.

It's not like altcoins are a temporary thing. A lot of them have multi billion dollar market caps and they are not going to disappear and go away overnight. Altcoins have had a downward trend in the last few days but I'm sure that they will turn green once the bitcoin price starts to go up again.
