junko , what a great explanation, it makes me realize why I loose when I play poker, lol
But it does make me think that I might have better luck bankrolling someone for a percentage.
I'm assuming that people do that sometimes right?

It's all part of the learning curve that all poker players go through. But now that you realize why, you also now know it is possible to improve your skills like others have done.
As far as bankrolling or staking someone else, it is a very common practice in poker. But you have to know what you're doing if you stake someone else. If you stake the wrong person, they could be scamming you and you will end up getting "rolled" - when the person you stake/bankroll wins, but doesn't pay you back according to the terms of the staking deal.
Personally, I don't get involved in the staking/being staked game. My number one rule in poker/gambling is never borrow or lend money and never stake or get staked. I like to keep things simple and as stress-free as possible when I play. Worrying about paying someone back or someone paying me back is just annoying and I know it would affect my game - for me, at least. I know other people who do it all the time and have no problems. I just prefer to play within my bankroll.
