I have a few for different uses aroung the house, But I make and upgrade when needed.

so for me my computer is as old as its oldest part, so I suppose.... around 6 years (the sata cable) but other than that, the memery is the oldest part I bought at end of '14.

Well, in parts were bought in different years.

My I7-3770k 10/20/2014.
My asrock z75 with gskill ram bought in 5/13/2012.
I bought my i3-2100 from here at bitcointalk.org around same time I bought my board.
Bought one 840 pro in 4/28/2014 and the other 840 pro in 2015 or so.
ASUS Xonar D1 soundcard in 9/1/2014.
my XB240H in 9/2/2015 same date for my MSI GeForce GTX 960.
And for my corsair 750d, I forget when and where I bought it.
The cooling system shit I forget.

I find that I don't want to buy brand new desktops anymore. I might consider older Xeon powered workstations or servers. They are cheap now, you only need to get new SSDs or new HDDs for storage.

My 5 year old rack server has 48 GB RAM, and I'll probably upgrade it to 72 GB. Dual Quad Core with Hyperthreading, so effectively 16 cores. You can buy these for $500 or less.

23 years. 386 Dx , 2 mb ram, 0,5 mb vga ram , 170 mb HDD ,1,44 flopy.

Windows 95 lol are you still on dialup, I think you are just joking around.
Windows 95 came out in August 1995, so 23 years is before that.

I was just using DOS. Then came Windows 3.1.

My main computer is 2 years old. I used my previous computer for 7 years, until the graphics card could not keep up with modern software.
It is not fast, but runs smooth with SSD.

Couldn't you just upgrade your GPU?
I could have done that. It was onboard, and I could have added a new GPU. But for a 7 (now 9) year old AMD dual core it was not worth it. And I wanted a modern quiet computer.

If it aint broke, don't fix it is my motto.  My 2001 Win XP Pro box lasted more than a dozen years, it was actually the Mother Board that finally died.  I never had the blue screen of death - ever - not once.

I've replaced it with an acer Win XP Home Edition (second hand) - swapped out the Ram for the maximum (which would have cost a small fortune new) and added a graphics card.

Hasn't missed a beat in the last three years.

My computer is bought in 2010. I bought second hand pc. I don't know how long they used it. I'm still using until now. It has a 512 memory when I bought with 80 gb harddisk. I bought another 512 memory and 80 harkdisk. I'm using  it until now. I wish to buy another pc but I don't cash at the moment.

My computer is 6 years old, but since I don’t do anything on it except surf the web and print files I don’t see any reason to upgrade.

Mine is three years old. However, when I built it I did so that it will take over 6 years until I will need to upgrade it. Right now I'm having absolutely no problem with it, I can run anything anytime without errors.

my main machine is a 7 year old laptop. I do have a fancy newer one but i'm not gonna make much use of that unless i'm traveling. the old one works perfectly still and does everything I need as I've never gamed on it. the days of having to upgrade all the time are over. same goes for phones apart from one upmanship.
