considering the recent upgrades done by the myetherwallet team of developers and also the implementations they have done on the platform after the hack or hijack in april i can confidently say that myetherwallet is now safe to transact with and also to hold coins whether online or offline.

I agree with the current  state of mew nowadays and with latest feedback of my friends who've been successfully  transacting their coins to trading sites, it went  great and safer than before. Maybe there were other people who seems to be hacked but the real reason was their negligence of exposing their private  keys online like shared accidentally.

Unfortunately, if someone already moved your coins, then there is pretty much nothing you can do.

MEW is only as secure as you make it.
It is just an interface to interact with the ethereum network, so if you decide to interact with it just using your web browser, then there is a high chance you will get hacked.
If you took steps to secure your key, than there is little chance it will get hacked.

So this means that you probably did not take the steps to secure your funds.
Really, the only thing you can do is to learn from this and move on.

Going forward, I highly recommend you get a hardware wallet.
They can be pricery (ledger nano is around 100 usd), but they are convenient, easy to use, and totally secure.

If you don't want to pay, than simply just start using paper wallets.
You can't get cheaper than that.

In order not to miss your money from my hands, I think that you just need not rush, there are a lot of little things that you need to pay attention to, for example, if we talk about MEW, then you should look at the address that is in the address bar, then whether your connection is protected.

Right now MetaMask + MEW combo is the safest and most practical way.

Once you load your account to Metamask, you can connect to it via MEW with one button click + all the added security that comes with not sharing you private key / json file,

it's a Win Win

my mew was recently hacked i don't even no how but my eth was stole and all my tokens is there anything i can do to recover it

Sorry to hear about your MEW experience, but unfortunately there is nothing you can do to recover whatever was stolen.
I think MEW is safe as long as you follow their recommendations regarding accessing your wallet as well as your keys. I also used to hold all my ERC20 tokens in a single MEW, but after the hack I realized it was not the best option. Even if it is a pain it is best to have multiple accounts. I am hoping to switch to a Trezor or Ledger soon as I feel those will be much safer.

I think MEW is still secured unless your private key is stole or your MEW have been hacked by someone if dont there is nothing to worry about for sure MEW website is working about their security issues due of DNS attack last time surely MEW will more secured by this coming days.

If your wallet was compromised then your first step should be creating a new wallets, downloading the keystone file, printing private keys and then keeping them somewhere safe!

Just let go the previous wallet as you might think that hack was old stuff now and the air is cleared ! No its not like that, if it was hacked then you mistakenly inserted your private keys into the phishing page and thus hacker still might be carrying your all info! So better to change the wallet.

MEW is very safe, but it is human error that compromises everything.

yes, I heard some of my friends got the same case as you. it looks like dns google 8.8.8.8 has been hacked so anyone who accesses mew can be stolen. that seems to be the point

Fortunately the eth and tokens at my own mew was safe but the recent breach in security made me realize i also should diversify my coins both bought and earned. I do have an app eidoo where i keen some of my ethers

Im personally a big believer in keeping control of my own private keys, so would never even think about using mew.

I understand not everyone wanting to get involved in crypto has the computer savvy to safely and securely manage their own keys.  Of course, these are the same people that get upset at the ICO managers after they’ve sent crypto from an exchange and lose the tokens they purchased.

I never know how the level of security mew now, but I just see the current mew with a new look and more interesting, but I really love the new mew, they more difficult to detect the new token even add token. and information about tokens we add never shows up in info in main page

You have no way to get ETH or token when hacked! You should be careful about setting up a new, secure private key for your wallet! Do not use personal data when logging in unsafe web addresses! You and yourself can protect your account!

My ether wallet is definetely not safe, you could lose your money many times before, if you want to use it still, connect with ledger nano s or download its offline version that is not fully safe but better than using it directly.
It depend how users fully secured their wallet, the site itself still safe the problem is how we deal with securities, if we follow those instructions from the site and we make extra precautions then our investment are still secured but if we just simply use it and not do anything extra then hackers will be able to attack and take away our money.
I agree with your statement that it depends on our actions to better guard it. Extra precautions are necessary because more hackers are involved. Fake websites also need to be avoided, especially if they ask for a private key, because it can make everything disappear.

We might think that the site isn't safe for the main time, but you're right that it depends with us on how we keep our securities confidentially. Keeping the private keys safe you shouldn't expose it online like with the email you had. Offline file like saving it in the excel file in your offline storage can be the best options to do. Mew definitely a 50:50 ratio when we talk about safety.

I don't trust MEW safety, I always prefer hardware wallet to save my coins, MEW offer a lot of stress including phishing site, also hackers can easily steal your investments.
Your tokens stole can not be recovered anymore, because any transaction made is irreversible.

Sorry for your lost OP but you might be negligible for your lost. The sad thing is you can't recover it unless by chance and miracle, the hacker will return it to you if he feels generous.
What was the last website you visited and logged in before MEW or did you ever clicked or you searched MEW through google? if that's the case then you fall to a fake website and you input your private keys there while the hacker sees someone was fetched, he stole your tokens immediately.
Bookmark MEW for your safety.
