As far as I know , the quality is calculated base on the length on the posts , I don't think that the BOT have some AI or something.
I may agree It's not the best but most of the time , It's pretty good way as most of the spammers out there write short posts.

Quote
pqm (post quality multiplier) determined by ratio of good posts (>75 characters excluding quoted text) to bad posts (<75 characters excluding quotes)
excellent post quality (90%) = 1.05 (+5%)
good (80%) = 1.025 (+2.5%)
fair (70%) = 1.00 (+0%)
poor (50%) = -1.025 (-2.5%)
very poor (<50%) = -1.05 (-5%)

If you want to take a look at the source good and the algorithms on how all this is calculated then you may want to check the Github repo : https://github.com/achow101/BitcointalkAccountPricer

As for the price , people don't really follow it that much but they do use it from time to time.

Don't you just love how they value quantity over quality ? I know 75 characters is not much, I don't even think it is a line but still. Someone who send a short sentence and a link is way more helpful then someone who prattles on talking to themselves or whatever xP

Hello guys, I don't know if this is the perfect board to post to, I have a few questions:
  • How do they measure the quality of the posts?
  • Is this the standard in terms of selling accounts?
  • Do people follow just how much the site says?

i think posts length changes quality, longer posts will have better quality, but of course i can be wrong, maybe others will have better answer
The quality of post rely on how many you post is can become useful for another people, from the content is maybe that is just a short but if it's very useful for another people and there a constructing energy in your post for everyone.

What you are saying about post quality is in this forum, but on the account price estimator post quality works on the length of your post as the guy mentioned above, the bigger comments you post everytime the higher your post quality will be on that price estimator.
Please, read again thet the higher post quality it's not just relly with the post length, sometimes it's can be a long sentences like an essay and and other time just like a some line, but

No AI can measure the constructiveness of a post. I've made posts with just a link which were everything the OP was asking for (for example, a link to a code source) and sometimes the solution to a problem takes several paragraphs to explain.

It might be a good way to provide average values of post word counts, etc but actual usefulness is a bit more difficult to measure.

And since your account's value is largely comprised of your posts' value, you can take this just for reference/entertainment purposes only. Not to discredit the site creators though - it is an excellent idea, and the fact that this thread exists means it's being actively used Smiley

Well I guess many users based in this site by the potential activity of any member in bitcointalk, quality of the posts are measures by the number of characters, this price estimator is not accurate because sometimes the owner of the account is the last who will decide the price of the account he want to sell, and maybe there are some follows the site says but not all this price estimator will just give you a little hint if how much price you can give to an account.

Very precisely, each the size of the account was indeed a price depending on the quality of the post and the daily activities they do in the forum. If it is so good then the price is very high, the determination of the price of the latter is on the owner, but if the owners give inappropriate price then this is very bad

Even if you try  to follow the price estimators then you would really have a hard time  on selling on your account  because its too high for such account and no one would be interested. If you adjust it regarding  on the post quality maybe  some would be interested and  bought that account. You are right the owner would be the last to decide  on what price should be sold.

lol my account worth was 0.03BTC and I thought ranking is every 2 weeks? but it says 4 weeks from now to become full member.  Shocked
also post quality was 87.20%. Cool

You have got it wrong bro, ranking does not change after every 2 weeks but it changes when you reach the double activity count of your current rank, for example you become jr. member after reaching 30 activity counts and then for reaching member rank you will need 60 activity counts that means the double of your previous rank, that is how it works, so if you are member you will need to reach 120 activity counts to reach full member rank.

Mastsetad is right and that's why I said the account pricer will only give you a hint or predict that so so thing happen in 2 weeks. Inaddition, if the account pricer says you will become Member in 2 weeks and if you don't post on here simultaneously to increase your activity/post count you won't be promote to the Member ranking.

I think you are. I think bots can't identify a quality of the post base on its content. Maybe it is possible if the pricer owner manually checking each post. hahaha. But i think its not gonna happen because they are thousands of account here multiply by the post =sucks. Cheesy

If your selling the account they not follow the price estimator some times they sell it half of the price ,and the price is not accurate its good for just seeing the post quality you want to see and see that the account don't have neg trust. and for me it still helpful, when you want to see where there post belong and how good is the post quality.
This is very useful tool for bitcoin account as checker and pricer.. but dont relay all in the post quality and price its just a estimate.. also they are just reading 75 character to be excelent in there checker.
But its still good checker ever that you can also use the merchant token..
It can be a very good start for future steps and it can be developed, however I checked it now and it did not work and sent invalid token message!

The other day i had an issue as you without those calculator even opening, anyway i hope somone uptade those as its very used atleast for lending service and auction.
Yes, if there is a good model for pricing, lenders and.. can get accounts as collateral, it reduces some risks.

And this price is only an estimation if you think about to sell your account you can be sure that you will get less than 0.03 Bitcoins, simply because users would not be willing to pay that much!

The account pricer is used to give you a hint per all the rank/worth of bitcontalk account not the actual price of selling account etc. And if you go through the website very well it is also state there.

what you guys say about rest of account price estimater  and potential activity checkers?
I saw there are many account checker available on the web. but some weeks ago there was only one and that was the bctalkaccountpricer.info  and this is still the number one with it's complete features.
That's right there are a many checker, but i feel curious, does the owner the checker is having a permission to dig up the detailed of the account in this forum or they just making their own calculate?

The sites code is pretty basic and uses the length of your posts to get your post quality. It is not accurate at all because it uses basic code made by someone out of boredom and praying for donations to be made for his cheap and bad price estimator. People really should not consider the price which it shows and it is just for reference as the maker probably does not know hard programming. I use it sometimes because it shows how much do I have untill promotion to the next rank.

its about quality
I highly doubt it that at this point any bot, script or AI can check out quality, integrity, helpfulness and accuracy of post based on mathematics formula.
All that script checks is how long are your post and maybe 1 or 2 factors which can be easy measured with simple numbers.

Anyway I believe that KnightDk is owner, ask him. His profile: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/achow101-290195
