There are whitepapers that aren't so professional and only copy pasted so take note of that.

ICO ratings now are used to advertise and make their names colorful and more believable for investors. That's another marketing tool so take note of that too.

Whitepaper
Roadmap
Team members' profiles
Its infrastructure
Its investment
Marketing move
The project
How long the ICO exists in its business

These are the main points to look at when choosing a legit ICO. Besides this, we have bounty managers who are bound to choose legit ICOs. Go with Yahoo62278, Hua_Hui and Needmoney.
Having those aren't enough to say that the ICO is legit.

The fake ones are having that type of qualities too but you'll see them running from their obligation to their investors and boldly open themselves as a scam.

Its difficult to know on what are the scam and legit ICOs.

I said almost the same thing in a previous post but I will add some more, only to ico.

Whitepaper
Roadmap
1) Understand the project proposal
2) Find out who the team is that is developing the cryptomoeda
3) See if the cryptomoeda has partnerships with companies or universities
4) Discover details about the community

In my investments I take all this into account.
Good luck

Yeah there's so much information to swim through nowadays, and so much work behind finding the right ICO. It's a bit overwhelming for someone who hasn't done much work with crypto to try and distinguish one from the other. Thanks for the list of pointers, that is certainly good advice.

I don't know if it would be better to hire someone to do this for you or not. It might help to work with an advisor at the beginning just to see how they do it, and then start out for yourself, but starting small.

There is always a possibility that a successfully looking project would collapse right in the middle, so everyone's advice here is just "Invest on what you can afford to lose", You are right start small. Also no advice is perfect, the best teacher is always experience. Also there are some review sites like icobench and menlo.one that can help you where to start investing your money.

It's good to invest small and lose small, but in order to be rich, I believe that the higher your risk appetite, the bigger your potential gains; of course it would ultimately depend on the project you choose to invest in. Just like what I did with Neo and Spectre, I'm gonna wing it with Menlo One.

After reading Menlo One's whitepaper, I really think that it's the real deal in terms of helping ICO investors choose the right ICOs and avoid scams with their proof of reputation algorithm. I'm looking forward to join future ICOs through their platform.

There are too many ICO projects on the crypto market, so choosing a profitable one is tough. You have to keep in mind many factors, and every day they get irrelevant.

I think that you can invest in different ICOs but in my opinion is better to go on a exchange and buy right now some altcoins like lisk or whatever altcoin you know that it will increase a lot in the near future. It's a good time to buy altcoins cause Bitcoin decreased and now it's about 6500-6900 USD (depends on what exchange you use) so yes you have this opportunity , but you have to know that there is an risk : you wil lose some money if Bitcoin decrease more than now

Find a good ISO project is a real!

To do this, you need to have experience in this sphere, and also be able to properly analyze the prospects of projects. To look at ratings it`s necessary too. But while  you will not sort out with the project independently it`s better to not participate in it!

Nowadays there are thousands of ICOs. While some ICOs have 20 times gain Cool, some have 1/20 times gain Sad.

How to find the best ICO... Huh

  • Whitepaper and website
First we should find out what the purpose of the project is. If the project has an applicable conditions, then the ICO might be successful.
  • Team
The next thing, that should be concerned before selcting ICO is the team. The team becomes an outstanding criteria since the team has the capability of the way to success of an ICO. Experienced team has their own tips such as bounty campaigns, airdrops and exchanges.
  • ICO ratings
When we find out the details about an ICO, what we should do is ratings of the ICO in the responsible websites. One of good website that the ICO ratings are published is ICObench. URL ; https://icobench.com/

According to the my opinion, above three criteria are the most important when we select an ICO campaign to invest Wink.

Short 3 big points to determine a good ICO project, however even if they do have great information regarding the official website as well as the whitepaper there is a big possibility that the project might fail or unsuccessful in the long run. But it those information really helps us a lot to choose a certain project, let's just hope and give our support to it and pray for success for us to be benefited if it succeed.

About the Team, this is one of my favorite point when selecting a good project because they are behind every projects success the determination, hard work, activeness and their experienced in the fields are huge factors for us to trust a certain project as well as more investors will trust especially if the team are honestly working and doing their best for the project. It is important to research on the background of each team members, the history of which projects they help succeed is one key to know that there's a huge potential the present project they are handling will surely made it to the top.

ICO ratings, although there are lots of good reviews some get a perfect reviews 5/5 or 10/10 we still unsure if the project will succeed but based on my observation people who runs an ICO review program are expert in this field, blockchain, marketing, I.T etc are part of their life and I know they studied it very well as they study the project well to conclude in high possibility of the projects success.

There are also scam project reviewers that we need to consider! I also search on Google to find if the project is scam or not!

For me one project that's very convincing for me right now is menlo.one. I mean, there plan is to clean the ICO marketplace from Scam projects with their guild based ICO review platform which I think what we really needed right now. Plus, I have been seeing their team, or there projects being mentioned on coin conferences around the globe.

I managed to participate in several ICO, some I earned quite well, I can say with certainty, for a good project, it must have potential for the future, that it will be needed in five years. Unfortunately most projects do not have this potential. I was lucky and I came across a project focused on protecting against hacking quantum processors, and to maximize the use of all the advantages of new technologies, project Kelvin Blockchain, you need at least to consider, because not every day there is such a good option for investing money. With the coming quantum technologies, the current market must experience many changes. To be more exact, many coins will leave the market, as there will simply be no demand for them, due to the same technological superiority.

Kelvin Blockchain project itself is flexible to implementing cryptographic algorithms which will make it one of the safest blockchains ever existed with 10+ signature available from the start. This project does not rely on any particular signature algorithm and due to the multi-client use - on some single consensus. In case of any problems, it is possible to quickly locate the threat and prevent it’s distribution throughout the system. Multiple blockchains with different consensus algorithms, token types, and assignments will be available. The multichain technology allows creating almost an unlimited potential for speed and productivity. Kelvin Blockchain can launch up to 2^64 subchains - more available subchains will benefit in increased speed and security. Moreover, all the blockchains will be processed in one wallet so that the client could have fast transactions, secure investments and cheap smart contracts as well as a lot of other services at his hand.

But in the three criteria you mentioned earlier in my opinion the very main is the team, if the team and the developer are competent people in the field, I think his project or his ICO will be successful.

Good ICOs are harder to find as the day pass. The word "GEM" is a niche in describing these ICOs. We can't trust almost every ICO rating websites these days because more often than not they advertise ICOs that are not sorted well or studied enough to be called GEM. Sometimes an individual study or research about the project often leads to a red flag than the ICO rating sites saw themselves.
All I could recommend is, as an investor, you yourself should learn how to distinguish SCAM and FAKE ICOs first. After removing these risky ICOs from the list. The trustworthy of LEGIT ICOs should then be sorted of what you think will grow BIG in the current market and not just a ripOFF of another platform's idea because this will just cause a break down within the community because COMPETITION is always healthy but too much is NOT. This is pretty common these days, ICO platforms are just changing the names of the features and services offered but if you look and study them closely, they work the same as previous platforms that came first. Also, you should know how much a of a budget that PROJECT DOES REALLY NEED. Too much BUDGET for a SIMPLE project could mean that the project and management itself has a "moneygrab" characteristics.

I also see that a good ICO project has a very active admin in their social media, And that's an indication that they really want to develop their project,

Very true. They are usually active and prompt to respond to issues, make clarifications and directs you to there goals. This is just what the trippki team do, they have a very active telegram group where you can raise and ask your questions.

token prices and total supply should also be considered because the price is too high is usually more difficult to get a profit than the less expensive
also look for ICO that already have agreement or guarantee for exchange
