Because of the way the country be, people fall for this wayo them say them want to double your money make dem invest and unknown to them na scammers. Always be guided. Op you tried let the newbies follow up dis your advice and make dem bo fall for any fraudulent activities in their dealing with bitcoin investment. And I will also add one to what you have said. And which is, don't connect your wallet which you have your large number of savings to any website. And don't involve yourself in any Ponzi Scheme. Do your investment and leave the rest.
The OP passed a very good message but it shouldn't be only centered on newbies cause anyone could fall victims to scammers, we all need to be careful cause those scammers come up with different tactics to steal from their victims when a previous mode of operation is exposed, therefore everyone need to stay updated and note the possible means and new tactics those scammers operate with, they could be anywhere, so far it involves the Internet. So, with that being said, we all need to be two steps ahead of them and be careful when dealing with things that involve finance on the Internet.
Your point are valid and on track. We as advanced individuals knowing fully well how useful and dangerous the internet can be at the same should alway take the necessary precautions to ensure we don't give out vital information to the public. Most person thinks showing off is fun, yeah it might be fun but don't overdo it, because when you overdo it you are only putting yourself in danger, you'll become one of the primary targets of scammer/hackers. I've heard of situation whereby most persons get hacked from connecting their device to public or free Wi-fi, I don't know how true this is but I believe it's possible, and because of that we mustn't carry the device our main wallet is around.
The Internet is gradually becoming more dangerous than previous times and as it's evolving those scammers too are updating themselves with different means to steal from people, we should learn to make proper research about things we come across on the Internet before we sign in and expose our details, it's not only being precautious about links we come across on the media, cause lately scammers clone sites and even make their's more convincing to lure victims, so we shouldn't just rush due to desperation or greed to jump into any opportunity we come across, we should take our time, observe any site, crypto project or airdrops before going into it. You've made a good point concerning the free Wi-fi and everyone that's not aware should take note of that.
