Thats why i think we need regulation from government about ICOs. Its hard to know ICOs scam or not because sometimes they have profesional team. I think the best way to avoid from scam ICO is always reading whitepaper but its not guarantee us

I believe that to be successful with the investment you have to choose projects which had already created a product prototype. You also have to look at the project development history and whether the project team works hard on business growth, expansion and achieving project goal.

I mean, is there an exact list of rules that could guarantee that someone who follows them will surely not become a victim of another ICO scam. Of course there are obvious rules like event participation, reputation of team members among ather prifessionals, approve by well-known advisors. But potential scammers also know all these criteria and know what to fake exactly.

Is there a 'blockchain way' to create an algorithm, scheme or set of conditions allowing to recognise and ban scammers? Not government laws way which also good for the market in my opinion.

Would be appreciate a link to an old thread, perhaps I just didn't find it.

UPD Best Advices:
  • learn about previous ICO projects, select viable ones and participate similar ICOs
  • invest in an ICO with a working prototype only

The best way to avoid scam is to make a thorough research first of the underlying project of each cryptocurrency that you are planning to join at. Make sure you know the project very well as well as the reputation of the team behind the coin.

Today, people simply do not have such an opportunity. I think that most people understand that now there are even more scammers on the market, they are now working as if they have real projects.

First and foremost, I think it best if you make good and thorough research before running into the deep waters.
In such a time that scam and crap ICOs are actually being unleashed on the crypto world, one has to be extra careful investing in any one of one's choice.

There are many ways to avoid the scam ico. But sometimes if we are not lucky still it will be a scam ico. First you should see the whitepaper and read the purpose of the project. Seeing the roadmap also I think is important. After that you can see the team from the project. Is that a professional team. And look at the enthusiasm of this forum community on the project.

It will be very good for an investor to find what is behind an ICO -Initial Coin Offering project Before joining them from the begining. Once you find out that they have nothing good to offer, you avoid them.

I think that all this should be expected and most of the projects on the forum describe this situation or roughly talk about the beginning of cooperation with some kind of exchange. It seems to me that this should work.

to avoid and know ico scam is quite difficult, but not impossible, the most important thing in knowing ico scam is to see from their team profile, whether fake or original, and see the idea of the project, whether plagiarism or not

according to my understanding, how to avoid an ICO scam is to pay attention to the Product Team or Project and the development team, because the product and the development team must be clear.

Yes its true, a strategy that can determine that the project are legit. Knowing all the details behind on the project, people and teams that developed has something that true and professional in works are proofs of legitimacy.

in any case, if the promising idea looks correct will be in demand in the society, it is already a big plus for participating in the ico company. But if you analyze and study each name from the company's ico team, it will practically have the result equal to zero. The fact is that not always the names are repeated, If you already had experience with other ico companies.

The best way to approach investing in ICO space is to be first aware of you impulses and have ability to control them. Greed for greater gain must be curtailed. You should be able to answer the question of usefulness of any ICO!

If it's from me, before deciding to join an ICO, make sure in advance you have learned and listened from the whitepaper project. If it's from me, before deciding to join an ICO, make sure in advance you have learned and listened from the whitepaper project. After that learn of anyone involved, still take care.
If you talk about investors, then all investors of ico companies are anonymous to the public, that is, information is not available. But if you are talking about the ico team, then not always. They are public people to recognize them.

I thınk you can't avoid scam ICO's if it is in your faith Cheesy because they can look legit and after six months past of their ico they can say we are done we can't deliver this product because of this because of that bla bla.. You can protect this situation with blockchain or nothing else. If you are not a risky person you need to go on with BTC LTC and Eth or really good proven altcoins.
But I thınk we can avoid scam ICO's. You only should check ICO properly ( read Whitepaper/watch command/so on). For example I looked over I
CO EON and I have no doubt that it is good ICO.

It is really hard to identify if an project is a scam or if it will fail in the beginning of their ico. It is hard to get rid of it because some ico's only depends on the advertisements done by bounty participants. I think it is better if we'll keep updated about the latest happenings in an ico.
