Imma just flat out say it that this NFT thing has gone far enough. Do we need to take this technology to every aspekt of our lives? I mean, same as the initial idea of blockchain when it started, we don't need to implement it everywhere just because it's good in principle.

I wouldn't be surprised if people started selling their own bodies as NFTs as the market develops. It's a weird world we live in...

That, my friend, is called slavery.

If it's from the threads of satoshi, Hal and other popular personalities and OGs of the forum, they can do that I guess.

But if someone eyes for that idea, there's no way you can do that if you're not the original owner of the thread that you want to make as an NFT.

I think it's because of NFT hype that jack sold the first post as NFT to whoever bought it. It is also stated that it is for charity. I think selling thread as NFT is useless in my opinion. Why not screenshot the thread and you can have a copy of it instead of making a token out of it. It would be best if there is something that a token is based or purpose. Take pooya87's post as an example.

I dont think there is a way to sell thread on this forum as NFT. But I know with time, there will be a way to sell a lot of valuable threads on this forum as NFT. Its just a matter of time.

Something is going to be wrong with it if someone else is going to create an NFT for some pages that they actually don't have any control. Dorsey's first tweet is his and he owns it and he is the one who created the NFT and that made it valid.

Let's say you create an NFT to satoshi's first post in the forum. So the buyer of this NFT is going to own this thread?
and what if we now move to the epoch forum which was planned since, will the NFT still be valuable?
Half of your post is pointing out an inherent flaw in all tokens and the first half is ignoring this flaw.

The flaw is that there is absolutely no link between the token and what they represent. The NFT token Dorsey sold for millions has nothing to do with his tweet even if it is sold for it. Imagine if someday Dorsey decided to delete that tweet or their database broke and it was deleted, the token will continue to exist in a meaningless and worthless way because as I said it has nothing to do with the tweet. Similarly if the token was deleted (the ETH platform disappears or they decided to undo their blocks again) twitter and that tweet will continue to exist.
More importantly there is nothing stopping either one of these scenarios to happen.

Well, aside from getting weirder every single day, this world is also more or less free. So I guess you have the freedom to sell your posts as NFT. Of course, only your posts. That's yours. As to you're thread, I am not sure. You'll probably have to have permission from the people who made replies on them.

Meanwhile, I don't think the forum owns what people are posting here. So I guess this forum cannot sell threads or posts created by Satoshi or Hal, for example.

Anyway, I am not a fan of all this NFT crap.

People are just cashing out the hype of NFT. Why would someone need to buy the first tweet of Jack Dorsey when his tweets are in a public forum. I do not know why it was sold in the first instance and what difference will it make. I can understand digital art or music but a tweet makes me laugh at the buyer.

I don't consider myself a competent person especially when it comes to new waves of hype, but may I ask you a question? How is it possible to sell a thread or post on this forum when they even don't belong to you? Look, they are located on a private platform, on a private server, on a private hard drive. You can't claim ownership over others' hard drives, you can't sell space there. You are not in possession of someone else's digital space, so you can't sell it. Please note, that your thoughts expressed in your writings do belong to you, but it doesn't mean you can sell them freely on a platform of which you are not the rightful owner. Therefore, to sell your posts or threads started by you, you should first move them to the place owned by you while ensuring that nobody's rights were infringed.

You can try to sell your post as NFT as mentioned above but you can't sell anyone else's post as NFT because you don’t own them and you don’t have the right to sell that property.
Maybe if someday bitcointalk is in need of fund, forum will mint NFT of satoshi's post and someone buy them lol but I doubt that's going to happen ever. Bitcointalk forum will not mint NFT to a shitcointalk  Cheesy Quick math.

It is trivial to create a shittoken out of anything including bitcointalk threads the hard part is finding idiots who would pay money for those shittokens and without some sort of arbitrary hype you wouldn't be able to do it. For example something like Satoshi's first post would be a good hype that idiots could fall for and pay money.

Basically go to some NFT marketplace and make a token that says "I pinky-promise to edit or delete this post that I made on bitcointalk on the first demand from the current owner of this NFT". Of course like with most NFTs, it has dubious if any legal power, it's not enforceable by algorithm, third parties can interfere - in this case forum's admins or mods can ban the account or do anything they like with the post. Lastly, the forum can be just shut down and you will own nothing.

I hope not. In all honesty, I can't see the point of selling valuable threads as NFTs ... but then again, I can't see the point of most NFTs either ...

Why buy someone's tweet? Could be Jack Dorsey faked the transaction to gain clout.
Satoshi Nakamoto founded bitcointalk, his posts should be lurking around somewhere on bitcointalk forum. In the future his posts and posts of others can be of monetary value.
I don't think if that's the jack behind the key pad of that device, he would not fake anything, and the buy unlike you has knowledge of NFT collectables, I think in 10 years from now he would not look like a loser after the value of the NFT collectables -Jack first tweet- he bought from Jack him, skyrockets, and I think it was of value because of the tweet was from Jack, I don't think it's available or has been done on the forum, but for now what's the value of a thread here as an NFT.

There are lots of great quality articles written and scattered across the web as well. Does it mean that we should create NFTs of them?

If you want, you can screenshot and just mint the NFT on Ethereum/Solana. But good luck actually getting people to pay for them lol.

Hopefully not...

I think it'd be a lot of work for the forum and users likely own their own content they put on here so you'd probably have to get permission from them too.
