If you are in full control of your Bitcoin, like you say you are, then you will get Bitcoin Gold. It's as simple as that. And if you really want to control and use your BCG, then you must learn to spend a bit of time to educate and teach yourself. If you follow someone else, you can't blame them if something goes wrong.

follow these steps
download their client bitcoingold when ready
move your bitcoin from your wallet to another one
dump the privatekey from your bitcoin wallet
import the privatekey in the bitcoin gold wallet, and you are done
