Just trade with Bitcoin. If you're not a coder of sorts, this is the best way to support the blockchain.

i too dont really have much in depth knowledge of btc, only the surface level of how roughly it is generated how to secure ur wallet how to sign your address, how to transfer btc. so i cant really go into the development team but what i feel i can contribute is by word of mouth, and invest more into btc and use it more often. it is acutally a great method cause transaction is fast and easy.

To get the things going, you could even contribute by paying miner fee a bit higher than you usually pay, that will help get your transaction confirmed and let the network run smoothly...
It does help to make stress testing slightly more expensive and that's it. The difference that you're going to make is very small.

At least it makes some difference, whether small or large...
Small things help in making it large, so collect small and make it large... Wink

Other things you can do is, keep some coins in your client and just put it on so that it might help the network...
That is for POS coins. Bitcoin is a POW coin. When running a full node, you are only contributing by relaying blocks (non pruning mode), transactions and enforcing the network rules. There is absolutely no difference in running a full node with or without any coins.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say it in that means... Smiley
I know Bitcoin is a PoW coin, but yes I thought running our client could help the network a bit, so thanks for clarifying... Smiley

Spreading the word is one of the things you should do, but when you are a programmer, you could contribute by give your help to the core developers.

What would be great too is if you build some advanced bitcoin tools for easy use.

guys i think op means how to contribute to the bitcoin network technically, so probably if you want to contribute like that you need to be a tech savvy which require some computer code skills.
one of specific contribution is by run your own full node , and you are already help the bitcoin network accepting transactions and blocks.

Hi all . I saw this article and got to wondering how I could contribute to the bitcoin network. http://bitcoinist.net/btcc-deploys-full-bitcoin-nodes-to-keep-network-secure/

i don't have a synced wallet on a computer as it must take up quite a bit of space now I imagine (?).
What are the ways to contribute?
I can't read the article because website is down.

Anyway, I think you don't need to download bitcoin core wallet to contribute in the bitcoin network.

You can easily contribute with spending your bitcoin to buy some goods and services and also educate your friend about bitcoin.

Spread the word, spread the word and again spread the word about it. The main key of everything has to do with bitcoin is the spread of word about it. The most known it the more strong it become. In every kind of meaning. every new enter in its world is a new important and heavy stone in its castle. More people will want it more attention will have, more resources will be allocated for it and more better it will be. In every kind of meaning.

It's impressive how much an idea can spread just by talking about it with acquaintances and friends. That's what I've been doing lately.

One way that I beleve will contribute is to avoid referring to Bitcoin as "cash". Cash is money in the form of coins or notes, and Bitcoin will not replace that. Cheques, credit cards, bank transfers, bank savings accounts and the like are all based on virtual currencies, and this is Bitcoin's growth area.

Well running a full Bitcoin node will be a start... I would suggest that you share with us, what other skills you might have, that might help with the network or any other part of

the community. In a sense.. some people have certain skills that might be more suitable for other parts of the community. I know some programmers developing Bitcoin related APP's

that are doing a damn fine job... helping the "network"

If you want to help Bitcoin in general promote it to the friends, merchants, media etc.
We need a lot people using and promoting bitcoin before BTC becomes mainstream.
It will happen sooner if everybody helps.

There are a lot of thing that you can do to help bitcoin project, running a node, mining are basics, but Bitcoin project needs people that help new users to know how to use it, people that uses bitcoin to buy or to sell. For example writing about bitcoin in a blog can help that new people joins that project.

it don't take too much space to run core , it's 60 gb, you can do it easily nowadays plenth of space even among the best ssd

if you want to support the network runnign a full node is the best way, or if you can, you can simply go with the mining route

Besides the amount of storage space that it uses (which indeed is not too much), ot also uses a lot of bandwidth.

I can imagine that some providers are not to happy with you running a full node depending on your plan.

not so much, if you limit your connection speed, i dunno if this will impact your node, otherwise yeah it can be a problem since many have 5-10 mega in speed

Your country may be your worst enemy
how I could contribute to the bitcoin network?
What are the ways to contribute?

Go to every store in your town and ask if you can pay with BTC. If they don't know what it is, you'll explain them.
Write and call Amazon and all big online stores to ask them how you can pay with BTC.
Try to pay your utility companies with BTC.
Try to pay your doctor and dentist with BTC.
Etc...

This would help a lot, and it won't take anything but your time.

Before reading this I guess I thought that only miners mattered on the network and not a full client, I would like to run one just to help out the network.
