I do not think we should exercise to be able to control our greed. The cause of greed is because we always want more, we always feel what we get is not enough. So if we can be grateful for what we get and do not expect too much, we will not be too greedy and it will be easier to control it.

I don't think there is a way to control greed. Unless you use a tight regiment. You need to limit your spend and follow a disoplined plan where you make bets of a certain size and stop after a certain time if you have no plan and limit you will bet wildly untill you hit 0. The amount that you win could hit your goal and then you stop. Without a goal you will never stop.

when you are greedy tendency becoming addicted is really big, but if you have self control you can then control greediness as its already been attached in every gamblers minds just really needed to practice how to be contented with small earnings and beating greediness will follow.

i have been in that situation like you said and yes its really hard to do especially if we don't have any experience to control our greed. what happen to me is i can not control myself and only continue the games, but after trying and trying more, i think now i can controlled although sometimes i still hard to handle especially if i can see that my chance to win is big.

These people can have children, wife and then they start losing too much money in gambling and forget about their obrigations with their family. Yeaaa i agree , those people who successfully withdraw the profit is the one who take over themselves from greedy.
To be able to do that you need to get used to it in your daily activity.
Otherwise you will have a temporary control only , you need to make it as a habit too.

Greediness will surely ruin our life and this emotion do come out mostly when we do play gambling because we are engaging on money thats why that emotion will come out.Its really hard to stop specially when your mind is always focusing on earning money unlike on other people who can able to control their greed because they do have strong awareness to their actions and possible circumstances ahead.

Since greed is a state of mind we cannot say it comes mostly form gambling, it comes form the person, also I think there is a lot more greed in places like wall street where the only thing they worry about is money and profits and nothing else.

To rephrase it, I can say that money is freedom. You said that Wallstreet cares only about money like it's something bad, but it's just a place where people go to manage money, it's wrong to expect them to be a charity or something.
Now the greed starts when people start hurting others to get money, or to even hurt themselves. Greed is also described as wanting more money than you need for a decent life. This means that you can't accuse people who are barely making living/have very average salary of being greedy. With gambling it's better to describe it as "unrealistic expectation" - i.e. when someone starts with $100 and sets up $100,000 as their goal. This is a common reason why people always lose - they simply don't want to stop with their smaller profit.

Greed in my mind is not about wanting something, is about wanting something so bad that you will not stop at nothing to get it and once you do you want more, I think those that are in wall street are greedy, they only care about making money and they will do anything to get it no matter what.

To overcome our emotions, we always need bigger time frame so that we can get practice to it. Greedy is being our basic characteristics, I believe it will not be easier to control it in weeks nor months. We might need years of practice. But even some professional gamblers are finding difficulties due to their greediness sometime. In my experience too controlling greedy is not an easier task.
