What specific practices can you suggest in short solutions to these situations? You understand that not all people can control themselves, all these things can be uncontrollable for a certain range of people.
Are there any working methods? Without enumeration and pointless advice, but some practical things based on your experience. I would be grateful to each of you if you could help me with this, it gives me a lot of problems.

Addicted people clearly have one problem:
They start playing with the money they set aside for the game, after they lose it, they take up money that is no longer intended for games and continue to lose. As a result, this leads to absurd situations and difficult moments in life.
That’s where it all starts, but everything changes after a win. Why? Because many people get greedy. They start to think that a bigger capital means bigger wins, and that’s when things can go away from what they think at the start.

You can block your casino account, but will that help? Of course not, in two minutes you can create a new one or go to another casino that will be no worse than the rest.
What should a gambling person do nowadays? How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.
Let's sort it out by points and try to give everyone their own version or experience, maybe it will help someone, including me.

It's not about getting rid of the casino completely, but only distribution and self-control.
I really hope that you will share your personal experience.

It might not be the best solution or an effective strategy, but at least you’re taking steps to control yourself. It’s not just about actions; it’s about what’s going on in your mind too. If we want to avoid this addiction, we have to work hard for it as well and been serious for such a change. Or else, we can't escape from temptation.

Gambling never solves a person's financial problems, those involved in the world of gambling must think about what their main goal is to gamble, if we live below the poverty line and enter the world of gambling, There is no medicine or antidote for them, except their own awareness, but it is difficult because most of them think that gambling can change their lives from an economic perspective, in fact it is not the case, in fact they live worse.

Quite a lot of people use gambling as their main source of income, so they dare to do something that they actually can't afford in the future, For this reason, try to think of gambling as a game and fun, so we don't need to think of gambling as an addiction.

This understanding of your's stated here shows it's going to be easier helping you than it would be with others that's if you see the need for help probably if you think you are becoming addicted, completely getting rid of the casinos is something that may sound almost not achievable soonest because its obvious business for some casino owners and even some Gamblers but trying to make sure not to be the source of income to either of these two but making as much as you can from the business becomes the main point of consideration because even some gamblers make money off other gamblers. Training yourself to have discipline, self control and restrictions when necessary is just the best way to get things done rightly enough not to be stucked as a gambler.

For me I usually take a break after losing,we should also figure out why we are gambling so that we wouldn't be addicted to it, figure out if you are just gambling to have fun, past your time because of boredom, excitement or thrill, or is it purely for the profit, after knowing the real reason why you gamble it would be easier to find an alternative activity to lessen it.

The most important point in overcoming this problem is self-awareness, we must be aware of our condition & situation, so that we can manage ourselves. I meet a lot of problem gamblers, and it's not about the platform & things outside of themselves, it's about themselves. Even if we make a special allocation for gambling, if a gambler's mentality is not good & they don't understand their own situation, of course they will return to gambling with other allocations outside of their proper gambling allocation.

There are many factors why gamblers start having problems with addiction... Maybe he started playing for fun with a little money, then was given a win even though it was not big but became curious... When he loses he continues to deposit until finally the peak catches up with the loss in the previous game.

Even people who are addicted in difficult times still dare to take risks to continue playing gambling. Because we know that after they are addicted, their determination becomes strong, it is difficult to be advised.

Blocking a casino account will not be effective, as some casinos may not allow it...
One of the self-control is discipline in gambling and organize the bankroll as well as possible so that when you lose, you don't want to play again.

I only dare to lose a little money in gambling... If you lose then stop playing and come back after recovering.

100% agree, if you can't stop, try to control it instead. It's not for nothing that professionals recommend trying to reduce exposure slowly compared to abruptly stopping. It's also what I did when I noticed I was spending way too much time and money in the past gambling. I dipped into my savings for a bit back then but after that I immediately tried to do some remedies. Blocking your account (or yourself) from playing can help, but I'd say it depends on the level of addiction.

The best method that actually helped me was just to go to my other hobbies instead, ones that don't need much money (or none at all!). I basically started studying again and coming back to FPS games just to stop myself from gambling. It worked rather well though it may differ based on how much "addicted" you are, I was what I'd consider beginning to be addicted. It might work though, just take more time.

On the contrary, I actually think that this is part of the solution if a gambler is really serious to stop such addiction because when you short yourself out from your account which is one easy access you have to gambling then you have already started the healing process. If you block your casino account and do away with the password by either deleting it from your system or somewhere that you have written out then you are likely to forget memorizing it and by that way it gradually goes off your memory. However, this solution is for someone who has built strong determination and passion to stop because most times addict only want to stop by the lips and not by serious action on it. If you block your account and throwaway password then you are sure going to need another registration to open another account and that is a conscious effort.

To build strong emotion and resistance to that kleptomaniac feeling of wanting to gamble all the time. Most times it is not easy to stop an addiction by your lips but you need strong commitment towards it.

~snip~

Learning to be in full control of ourselves is one of the tasks we work on throughout our lives. At first, our parents are involved in this process. As we gain experience and wisdom, we gradually take the reins of power into our own hands. In my opinion, there is not and will not be a single advice that would help everyone, because someone fully control themselves already in high school, and someone can not learn it for a lifetime. You just need to work on yourself every day and try to limit the desires that are not necessary. Gambling has never been a necessity for us. It is only an entertainment that requires money. If you are spending a lot of money on gambling, then you are not working on yourself enough and you should put more effort in this direction.

The first thing anyone who has a problem with spending more money on gambling than they should is to admit the problem to themselves and others around them. There are few people who can solve such a problem by themselves without the help of others.

The key is to have people you trust, and then entrust your personal finances to them in such a way that they simply do not give you more money than what you intended for gambling. It is a decision that is very difficult to decide on and may not even be the ultimate solution to the problem, because people who are addicted to something in the absence of money often borrow money from others or turn to stealing and reselling things.

Money control is one approach, but my opinion is that such people simply need to find some other source of entertainment (excitement) to forget about gambling.

It's really hard to really control ourselves, it's like someone inside of is telling us to continue to gamble and maybe we can won back those money that we lose. In my experience though, I will always think of my prioritizes in life, like putting put in the table for my family or even the education of my kids. Of course, it order to sustain that, you need to have a good job as well.

So with that, as much as I wanted to, I will just have to think that I can't afford to lose that money right now. Specially if I will have to pay like for example a monthly education for my kids. I will simply stop and then focus on the next month that I need this x amount so that I can continue the education of my kids and it works most of the time.

I must say right away that such topics are clearly in this section, but in order not to clog them up, I created a separate one with different diversions.

You are right closing a casino account doesn't really matter and what count most is how to control ones action and emotions towards gambling. To me I would say that when gambling you should locate a specific amount to gamble or when exhausted you shouldn't go ahead with your alternate saving to gamble.

I think could I did made a post towards this or a reply somewhere about gambling allocating specific fund by weekly/monthly to gamble and when these amounts are exhausted they should wait till the month runs to get it refilled to gamble otherwise would definitely ends up touching money not meant to gamble with.

However, gambling addiction and control of mind, there are people who may control their emotions and their greed index towards gambling and of course this is controlled then we can say to be very difficult for one to become addicted to gambling. But on the contrary, if planning to close a casino account or betting account would be every tendency to create account in another casino to continue gambling which turns doesn't solve any problems instead doing more harm to the gambler itself.

Any gamblers that falls Into this category is on their own, you said if they block their online casino account just to stay away from gambling they will simply create another? Who are they fooling if its not themselves, if you want to stop gambling addiction it is in you, there is no help anywhere waiting for you.

Some gamblers only want help with the reason why they keep losing and they will disguise under the pretense of being gambling addicts, that's why you will see good Samaritans helping addicts only to go back and gamble behind again, if you as an addict don't have the fact that you are addicted to gambling it is a free fall from here on.

To beat gambling addiction and be disciplined is within ones self, to become rich in this world also is from within, too many people never stop trying but the majority part of their inner force is dependant on miracle some day, not working smart and hard.

What should a gambling person do nowadays? How can he overcome himself and not spend more than he should.
First one needs to recognize his/her triggers for gambling. Do you play when you feel a particular emotion? Like were you stressed? Were you happy? What made you want to scratch the itch of gambling? Once you recognize what triggers you, you can now avoid these triggers. Pick up a different hobby or a coping mechanism when you are stressed or happy.

Instead of gambling, maybe try doing some exercise or play some sports. Stimulate yourself in different ways that are not harmful to your health.

Another recommendation I have is to find support around you. Make sure that there is someone to keep you in check and knows how to be objective. Someone who can take you out when you get in too deep.

There’s not much to add here since I’ve read similar gambling addiction topics, and the answers and opinions are pretty much the same. I’m guessing the mods will lock this thread soon, so I won’t put too much effort into my reply.

What you need to do is always practice self-control.

I believe that how best to control and eventually get out of gambling addiction is to first summon the courage and control to distant from it. Then strategies a plan for responsible gambling if you want to return to gambling. The two key words to avoid gambling addiction are discipline and budget, if you set a budget for gambling and be disciplined to stick to it then you can't become addicted.

With a budgeted amount for gambling it wouldn't matter whether you're winning or losing, immediately the amount is exhausted you should exit without any second thoughts. Most importantly the budgeted amount should be money that you can afford to loose. Don't be overconfident when you win to over gamble and don't chase loses when you're losing. To achieve this strategy you have to learn to be a disciplined and responsible gambler.

Closing a gambling account in itself is not enough. The temptation to make a bet
is always going to be there so it will be beneficial to seek professional help, help that
specialises in addictions.

Its very easy from what I have heard to slip into a bad routine and bad habits and
while initially we may be able to stop those its very easy to fall back to them.

Trying to solve the issues yourself only works for a small percentage of people,
I think the vast majority need third party help!

I used to play a lot of slot games and original games like Keno, Plinko, and more. What I did was find a game that I love playing and I remembered that I did love console games like Final Fantasy games. I installed one on my PC and that's how I controlled the time allotted for gambling.
The thing about being a gambling addict is we are so absorbed in what is happening there that we forget there are other ways to entertain ourselves or we could do household chores if we are too bored in our life.
Those kinds of things I can do now ever since I switched to gaming again. Offline as much as possible so that I can pause it and do other things that are important like work.
My point is, that we must find where we truly enjoy what we do online. Others like following their favorite sports while others love being outside talking to people. It's all up to us and it's just a pure mental battle.
