But we are not expected to only grow in ranks but in the knowledge we acquired through the learning process on bitcointalk about bitcoin, the forum and cryptocurrency as a whole, everything begins with a step, when we are determined for it, we can achieved it.
Merit and ranking is just a side attraction or reward that comes along for being on the forum. The most important thing is the wealth of knowledge that one is privy to here. I still beat myself sometimes over the financial investment I made 2 years ago. I wish I had found this forum before then, I probably wouldn't have made such a mistake. So my advice for newbies or anyone who care to listen is that, they should always see the forum as an educative center for learning before anything else.

This post is for the newbies and jnr members like me..if you want to grow in the forum you have to be patience and consistent..Most of the snr members, hero members and legendary here it's took them years before they got to that position so don't expect to get enough merit just like that.. keep on posting valuable topic that will help others and always read the rules and regulations in the forum before joining..Try to learn about Bitcoin too and most especially stop thinking about getting merit and browse the forum for learning.. That,s is the easiest way to get merit..
 And "Don't Give Up".
Having success on this forum is one thing that can be achieved, but only if you are determined, creative and resourceful in providing valuable contents, while abiding and obeying all the forum rules, such as not posting plagiarized content, scamming others and spamming the forum with meaningless post. Because just as the journey of a thousand miles start with a step, so is that applicable to we members of this forum too, of which all we need to do is just obey the rules of this forum and we are all good to go.

Giving up should not be the option for one to take when in a situation or at the cross road. This is the case of new bies here. When it seems their target is not met, they decide to quit using the stringent policy as an excuse for quiting the platform.

Building and leveling up here needs patience, commitment and good contributions to growing the platform. If only the new bies could understand this, they could be able to adapt and be able to scale through without any much difficulties.

As a newbie, when encountering challenges and difficulties, what is expected of you is to fall back to your local board for help. That is one of the sole reason why the local board was formed as to help her members both old and new to stand up straight on their feet but they don't instead they loose hope and give up on the platform forgetting that "a journey of a thousand miles starts with just a step"

not sure but this might be a little off-topic but I just saw his most recent thread he created, funnily enough, if you check his thread and run its content on some AI content detector you'll get a result of "Your text may include parts written by AI" and if you try to run the title of that thread on chatgpt and just add "7 advantages of" on the first part, you'll get an answer similar to his post.

If I may join the little off-topic topic, I ran the post on 7 AI detector recommended by nutildah, and get the result as follows:

1. https://platform.openai.com/ai-text-classifier

2. https://writer.com/ai-content-detector/

3. https://gptzero.me/

4. https://contentatscale.ai/ai-content-detector/

5. https://x.writefull.com/gpt-detector

6. https://hivemoderation.com/ai-generated-content-detection

7. https://paraphrasingtool.ai/ai-content-detector/
I somehow can't run a result here, maybe someone else could?

It seems only two of the seven detected them as AI generated, suggesting that the article is quite likely written by human, as it should be, as it is written by human. This part of the post, for example,

[...]

6.Fast Transaction Process
Transactions follow a specific process, depending on the blockchain they are taking place on. For example, on Bitcoin's blockchain, if you initiate a transaction using your cryptocurrency wallet the application that provides an interface for the blockchain it starts a sequence of events but with the introduction of physical bitcoin gift card you don’t need the blockchain to carry out transactions for you when sending bitcoins to loved ones, just take a picture of the card and send to your loved one.

[...]

is clearly written by human, specifically named Adam Hayes,

See? It's human generated... or plagiarized. Ohh, the irony of this thread just gets better and better... or does the word "worse" fits better? OP suggested that the easiest way go get merit is to "always read the rules and regulation in the forum", I don't think he knows that the forum highly frowning upon plagiarism.

Edit: ahh, my apology, I didn't realize the plagiarism part was already caught, pointed out, and reported by lovesmayfamilis here and here.

This topic isn't new again to us but as we may see it's a repeated topic if you check carefully you will noticed that other people have said over time. You only need to be smart and reasonable enough to make some good post and help those you think aren't help.
You can also choose to be active but this doesn't guaranteed your ranking or the amount of merits to earn if being active.

Mate it's quite ironic because in 30 seconds of skimming,  I couldn't see a single valuable post from you. Maybe try to apply your advice to yourself before telling people how to do it.
there will be nothing worthwhile, he's just bragging so he expects to be appreciated.
He gives tips to newbies but he himself still doesn't achieve those tips well. The goal is good, but he doesn't do any self-reflection on how to become a member who can grow and contribute.
Even I'm still trying and it's better to motivate myself to succeed, before motivating others.

If that's the easiest way to get merit then why aren't you getting the merits yourself or are you trying to say you don't follow your own advise. Its quite funny how people that aren't qualify to give certain kind of advice are the ones aways giving that particular advice and mostly when they do this, they're trying to fish for merits. Buddy merits aren't been gotten that way again, you have to work for the merits now. Your posting should do the talking and not you asking for it.

Anybody that's contributing quality discussion to the forum always get rewarded so you don't have to go searching for it because when you do so, you won't find it. How quality is your post history that a meriter can review and reward you your deserved acknowledgment assuming your posts got missed earlier on. You can't be posting low quality content and be expecting merits to be flowing into your account.

Take your advice OP work on yourself even though you don't get a second chance on the forum but stop commiting plagiarism not just on the internet but in all area of your life as there's no gain in that, you're just stealing someone else contents.

I believe this could have been more better on beginners and help section, giving a tips on how to grow on the forum is very important especially for newbies, but we are not expected to only grow in ranks but in the knowledge we acquired through the learning process on bitcointalk about bitcoin, the forum and cryptocurrency as a whole, everything begins with a step, when we are determined for it, we can achieved it.

There's no way you can get merit if you don't have something to offer or when you don't improve on yourself, the reason why everyone receives merit is because they work on themselves and make a valuable presentation to the community and merits comes after that.

We have had enough of this having patient, yes we know is to have patient but what if you don't put efforts how would grow mate?
Isn't about having patient only but is about putting efforts first before seeking to have patient on growing, is just like telling a dog to have patient to have the fattest born, yet no one has ever wasted any born for dog to dive it up to start eating and we keep saying the dog should have patient in other to eat the fattest born. Man it doesn't works that way, you must put efforts to be creative and useful to yourself instead of just keep having this so called patient.

Patient + Efforts = Growth
Creative post + Efforts = Speedy growth
Patient + No effort = fall
Patient + Patient = Weak

So among these choose where you belong to know if you'll still keep saying 'Patient'

Another attempt at fishing merit, a fake guru who knows everything about the forum. Viewing the posts, of course, suggests that he is very far from the guru. In addition, you need to wait how the moderators will react to his plagiarism. The OP teaches everyone to read the forum's rules, but does not think this also applies to him.
OP, advice for the future: in order to teach someone, you need to be an example. You are setting a bad example.

The merit system was created to help the forum to cope with some  members. It was not created  for members to cope with the forum. Smiley

Unfortunately for the majority of members here especially newbies or low-ranked members it's the other way around, they are hungry for merits because it's their way around here in this forum, as long as you are following the forum rules and you're not spamming, you are good to go, merits will eventually come, it's on how you interact,  it's not a badge or something you need to cope with this forum.

That,s is the easiest way to get merit.

Okay, I got some merit, what's next? Did I start to understand something better because of this? Did this open up any secret sections of the forum with innermost knowledge for me? As far as I know, no. Frankly, it's nice when someone likes your posts, and someone positively marks them, but that's not the goal, is it? We get knowledge and we share it, better or worse we do it, but this is the main thing. Or am I not understanding something well enough? Merits and signatures are just a nice addition, aren't they?

This should be the one OP write on how "to cope" with the forum, by seeing it as a place to discuss things and get knowledge, and treating merits and signatures as a nice addition. But sadly, a lot of members --I think OP included-- see the forum and signature as main source of income. That's why merits and ranks are important factors as it means bigger paycheck from campaigns. Ironically, I think this is one of the reason why merit system is being introduced to the forum on the first place, to deter people making pointless posts for the sake of ranking up and/or get paid

Funny because spam and empty calorie posts seem to be at an all-time high.

So much meaningless drivel written every day for the sake of meeting posting requirements.

Of course how do I convince anybody I'm not the same with a signature beneath my text.

I hope they can still tell the difference.

Having said that, there is some decent advice in OP's statement that I wish new users would employ:

Try to learn about Bitcoin too and most especially stop thinking about getting merit and browse the forum for learning.. That,s is the easiest way to get merit..

Hope they're following their own advice, didn't really check

Maybe you should start listening to your own advice as these kind of topics won't bring you any merit.

By the way, you should move this to Beginners & Help board, or even better lock it as we get these type of topics where new memebrs advice the others bascially on the daily basis.

Cheesy Maybe OP has to change the title to How I am going to Cope in this Forum or What I'm Going to do how to Improve he should start with himself, we are good at advising others, and yet we are lost on how to apply that advice, he is talking about value but like you, I have not seen value on 90% of his posts.
People should stop giving advice if they cannot give a receipt or prove that they applied it to themselves, it's like a blind leading a blind.
