Wow thanks for all the responses and the tips guys.

I'm more of a UX/UI designer,  I have a great concept of making the site aesthetically pleasing. I just need some experience in the backend. It's hard to trust any developers especially in online gambling, so my plan is to take some time to learn the backend side of things.

And after designing the dice game, I want to expand into other areas like Sporstsbook and esports.

Question: How do I implement bitcoin wallets for users to deposit into the site?

Whatever you do, keep the deposits and withdrawal options random, to increase anonymity for the users. The sites honoring the anonymity are doing pretty good at the moment. The sites with complex signup's and verification processes are not favorable.

Do not branch out too soon to other fields, before you know that the dice section would be profitable and secure. ^hmm^

I think it's also a good idea if you can chat with an owner of an existing Bitcoin casino and get some tips and possibly you get the whole picture of what you are planning to do.

But I don't think any owners will give such details to any one because if they do like that, indirectly they are creating compitation for their own site. But some good owners may give a some inputs, if not all. No harm in trying luck.

I am going to test out the free Dice script "Untitled Dice" running with the the Honeypot API. This is going to be an adventure, setting up a Git account and all.

Any resources where I can learn how to script and operate a bitcoin powered website?

Cheers

Their are so many dice casino sites , that is why you have come with a good unique concept in dice with good graphics and fast uploading. Their are so many links you will get in this forum where you can get the code freely or just paying small fee. Make the Security of your site very tight as their are so many scammers who will create a bot and they will rip your wallet.

The most expensive asset will be your bankroll. And you will have to show proof that you have it or else nobody will gamble on your website. I am guessing at least $100,000 for a new dice site. The design, hosting, etc, will all be cheap in comparison.

That is very true. In bitcoin casino business first think is your should prove you got a huge funds and second most think is trust to attract players. There are many scam so people are bit hesitates to play on new casino sites so you need to prove that you're trusted guy. Good luck to you.

Like others have already said, this problem is easily fixed with moneypot, as they handle and provide your bankroll for you. In return, you share some of your profit with them.

Some advice to OP;

There are many free open source dice scripts out there like this one; it's very easy to get them up and running. However, users probably won't come to your site, as there are many other dice sites out there, they'd probably go to one of the more established dice sites such as primedice.com or rollin.io. You'd have to think of a very unique concept to attract users.

Also, from this post, it seems like you aren't very experienced with coding, etc. (I may be wrong - you might be a coding genius) but if you don't know how to code etc., I wouldn't recommend that you open up a dice site just yet. Get familiar with bitcoin and the industry, then open a gambling site. Best of luck!

Yes, in this business first players need to trust your site to gamble than you can surely attract more people. But for that, you need to do a proper marketing/advertising your site than you can make profit from your site otherwise site without traffic no use.

Unless you have a shit load of money you need to forget about starting a bitcoin casino now.

All the top sites were created & run by very early adopters.

Not the best idea as 'dice market' is pretty saturated. If you're keen to do it anyway, probably the simplest and safest option would be using Moneypot. Afaik they have free open-source dice site script. They handle all the money on your behalf, so you could benefit from their trust and userbase.

Check the 'for casino developers' section:
https://www.moneypot.com/

Again, don't expect too much in terms of profit, unless you have some unique ideas and are talented marketer.

You have to really understand the workings and the weaknesses of the system especially since you are new in this forum, developers can take advantage of your unfamiliarity to cheat you. For example you can check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1167828.520
Owner says was rigged developer you have to learn from this case

You need to pay a developer/designer to make the script and the layout if you aren't going to use a premade script, You would need a good capital as funding and offshore hosting, bug testing and an advertising budget, not a project I would recommend though.

Hi I'm new to this forum and I'm thinking of creating a bitcoin casino - just a simple dice game. Aside from having it hosted offshore, what are the basic steps to have it up and running?

Cheers

You will need a lot of money (and I mean a lot) , you should proof to the users that you actually own the amount that you claim having in your casino because people won't deposit anything unless they trust you .
secondly , you should hire a programmer because I'm more then sure that the Casino scripts out there have backdoors and using them will lead to losing money if you get hacked instead of making money
Indeed, with this business you better have a big wallet ready to be invested in your Casino, because having a mistake on your security can be fatal, you don't want to be known out there for running a Casino that had an exploit or so on. Provably fair that's demonstrable and being able to select the seed is pretty much a standard in 2016.

Will it be easier if I allow people to invest in the site? Early investors will definitely profit from this venture.

then I guess you can make a topic on the Securities section about your project , and tell that you are looking for investors etc ... that should do the job . Just make sure to make a good written topic , with all information's needed and make sure to use an escrow to hold funds be cause no one would trust you to hold big funds . (Escrow from the forum logically)
