Wait for the 20th bitcointalk anniversary for the art contest but I doubt theymos will repeat the same contest.

Lucky for them for those who received a lot of merits. Now merits will be hard again to earn if youre not creating a useful topic or helpful post.

Tips: Be helpful if someone ask, supply answer with a direct to the point and probably someone will merit you. It's not about phishing site.

Dont worry about my post count because i dont need +1 post count , sounds like for me maybe an Alt Account of somebody then !

Sorry that i would be helpful and tryd to help  !!!!!!  Realy Sorry

In this case i guess i hit the Ignore button again .

I like earning merit as it pisses off cryptohunter/TOAA.

Its like a sport to some, means very little to us who earn them easily, but pisses off those who cant earn it themselves.
This actually kinda convinced me to try hard and earn merits..

I don't think the next contest will same with old contest.
Few users will repost their art they send in 10th art contest. And maybe steal other art from other user.

-snip- "10th anniversary art contest". It's beyond prediction, right?
What we can learn from this? Do your best at every attempt!  Smiley -snip-
Yes, that is true and happened to me. Get luck from the 10th Bitcointalk contest.
Many merit that I got thanks to the artwork that I made.  Smiley
The amount of merit given was beyond my estimation.
Do your best for every effort, whatever it is. In order to get better feedback too.  Grin

More merit of course the quality of the post must be better too.

Yes, indeed. And plus a bit of luck sometimes. For example, earning merits from "10th anniversary art contest". It's beyond prediction, right?

What about creating "I'm almost ___ rank" or the "road to ___ rank" topics? That should work too in raking up merits right?

I agree with creating one sticky thread for all phishing sites but he problems is the updating of the OP. As we can observe, many of the "list of ___" threads become outdated or obsolete pretty fast.

I want to do a topic on "How many Artists collected enough merits to rank up from the Art contest"

Maybe we should have a new rank - Artist.

They cannot always be given merit. Because it depends on who can see and read if that post is really good. And sometimes even high quality posts are not always given merit because others are lazy to give? or just don't want to give? others want to give merit in case they have no sendable merit!.

Not as easy and simple as you say. A high rank may not necessarily follow a signature campaign that has a good salary.
There is an obligation to make quality and useful posts. More merit of course the quality of the post must be better too.

Exactly, that's why I mentioned it's optional.

1. Create a topic reporting one super obvious phishing site
2. Wait for the merits to rake in
3. ? ? ?
4. Profit!

Opps!
1. Don't create merit thread
Very rarly I have created merit thread and very rarly I sent merit on Merit thread. I know anyone could earn merit by reporting scams and phishing sites. But it doesn't mean always you will get merit. Depends on how accurate your report. Honestly I don't feel it's your title and post matching each other and it's not something important for meta board. Lots of thread here about how to earn merit easily.

The only one way to earn merit, don't create merit thread and contribute your best experiences and knowledge with community.

No! This is how it should be:

OR
  • 1. Create meaningless merit statistic threads
  • 2. Keep it updated in the best way you can therefore bumping and always making the thread visible
  • 3. Concentrate on engaging in conversation in the meta board to portray yourself as a quality contributor.
  • 4. Keep calm & wait, then profit

Before now, create threads on complimenting the system or complain and your post history will be reviewed probably earning you some merit (if only you got some decent post). Enjoy 😁.

<…> I want to do a topic on "How many Artists collected enough merits to rank up from the Art contest" but I am lack of skills to scrap data. <…>
I kind of gave that a go. Nothing fancy; just to get a quick draft idea (i.e. not exact), and not fully completed (I only tried to mark those that received 20 or above merits in the art contest (as of last Friday morning): see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53158763.

As to the four easy steps to merit, I don’t think that there are that many cases, and when (and if) they become a more generalized trend, they receive less merits due to recurrence of the topic. I’ve just taken a look at the most merited posts there since September 2019 (https://public.tableau.com/shared/Y8DTWD88M?:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_link), and it’s pretty diverse.

It's not to complicate to earn merit, you don't need 4 but only one step - quality.
If you write good quality posts,  something what contribute to the forum or can help others,  you will receive merits.
Some people maybe can't write good posts in English but we already have many local merit source so even in local sections it's not to difficult to earn merits.
Also,  we already have a lot merit giveaway topics in the forum so if you feel that some good posts are not rewarded with merits you can report it in such topics.
