you think so,
but i guess there are a lot of people who do not think like you,
and they "trust" in trust index!!!

excuse the pun

No, only trusted members will be added to DefaultTrust list. If you are telling in general, then I wonder what would be trust rating of Vod and other scam-busters. Roll Eyes

The only way to build legit trust is to do legit deals.

If you want people to trust you  on here you need to be an honest no bs trader.

the trust counter it is easily to circumvent!!!

if a person has 100 accounts,
can distort the trust very easily and
 without spend 1 btc!!!

i hope in the new forum release the trust function will be better implemented...
Bullshit, new accounts are not usually on the trust list. Even if you spam a thousand, none of them will be counted as trusted feedback. Useless unless the person looking at your trust is an idiot. Even if you spend money and buy an account from default trust, it will be detected quickly and you will be removed from default trust.

for the trust counter is different.
a user has left a positive feedback to you!

Here is the problem. Like activity updates automatically, this also updates automatically. That's what I meant.

Activity == You will have to make a post.
Trust == A trusted user has to put a trust feedback.

correct...
activity counter it is auutomatically updated from Bitcointalk forum engine...

to increase trust counter, other users, must explicitly post new feedback form the link below
change 123456 with your uid

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=123456

Wrong! Activity updates only if you make atleast 1 post in 2 weeks period. It is same for trust rating, it will only increase if a person from DefaultTrust list or on a user's trust list put a trust feedback.

   -MZ

how if the account was not make 1 post in 2 weeks period but he just online in that 2 weeks period ?

activity update if you make post, if you just online but not make post in 2 weeks period your activity not update

If your post count is below your activity points(activity points you can use) you must post more to see your activity count increase. Your activity point is like a limit, limit increases as more active 2 weeks period you gain. People not from your trust list will not appear as trusted feedback but as untrusted feedback. Trust list is different for everyone if they modify it so trust rating will appear differently.

The Equation is this:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

But for people to trust you, you must complete good trades, be an active community member, or something else for people to have a reason to.

That equation is for activity calculation not trust rating calculation.

I see the "trust" function (i.e., +1, -1, etc.) on the forums. How do you gain trust?

Do you really need to care about "How do you gain trust?" Gaining trust score is a natural process; You gain it +ve, neutral or -ve just doing trades or providing services or put more simply by being a valuable and helpful community member. Doing 1 or more of the aforesaid things make other community members here leaving a trust feedback to your profile (if they wish to do so) and your trust score will reflect those feedbacks.
By the while, why asking such a question like a wannabe scammer while using the search form here on bitcointalk can find you all the guides & help on the topic?

There's a field for the "Reference Link" in trust. I assume this requires some sort of post for validation. Perhaps a link to accounts on other sites would serve as a good source?

Unreferenced trust feedback bear low to no credibility. Trust from outside sites bring no value at all since it was rigged by sockpuppets & other abusers. You should do real trades and other members here will give you feedback based on them, putting the references in the Reference Link field.

I'm asking because I see "trust" as a reference indication of someone's... trust. A key attribute to be used to evaluate a member before trading or loaning with that person.

I ask about the trust mechanism on the forum because I see it has limited capabilities. BBs have been around for a long time, there are many different frameworks, and I'm curious why we use SMF and not one of the others.

Curiosity...?
