I see them often actually don't know how to obtain one or how to add one. Some feedback on this subject would be much appreciated.

Its disabled my friend by admins unfortunately . It will come with new forum so wait for it
your friends logo got disabled ? that's really strange  , just thought they disabled adding one , never heard of anyone's getting disabled o_o

No, he meant "It's disabled, my friends", not "it disabled my friend's".

If You took time to use forum search button then you'd got all the feedback you're asking for without having to start the n-thread over the avatar topic.
To put it short....Avatars were disabled following a security breach and are not available till the new forum rollout.
And if you took the time to read the answeres of the others, you would realize that you are the third to give this explanation.
It might be useless to ask this question in first place, but for sure it is useless to repeat an answer for the 3rd time.

Repetita iuvant or to put it in English: repeating does good. I was teached to repeat a lesson if a person cannot understand something, so if newbies repeatdly failed to grasp common sense rules like to search something by themselves before asking for it, i never avoid repeating it to them. Other people in the audience can consider such repetition annoying and useless but to the one needing it is not useless at all.

Take care & have a nice day.

Theymos has said he will remove them if the user doesn't want it any more just not change it to another.
Hmmm, I thought he sometimes changes them as well (even though it didn't happen often). Oh well, my bad.

They were disabled ever since the forum was breached last time.. And now I am stuck with this WorldCoin Avatar Sad
You can ask an administrator to remove/change it. Doesn't mean they will do it, but you never know right? It sometimes happens. Tongue

Perhaps an admin/moderator could be sent the avatar the member would like, and change it for them?

If I remember correctly, the security breach was in uploading avatars was it not?
You are correct this was what caused the security breach, however you need to understand that the volume of new accounts is huge. Just yesterday almost 1,200 new accounts were created. I suspect that a good portion of them are probably in some way spammers and will get banned, however even if half of them get banned that leaves 600 accounts to upload avatars to.

If it were to take 4 minutes to upload an avatar for each account then moderators would need to take 2,400 minutes, or 40 hours every day uploading avatars. Spread that between the roughly 25 mods the forum has, and that would result in each mod spending roughly 1.6 hours per day on avatars. That may not sound like a lot however the mods are volunteers and may or may not actually put that much work into moderating every day, plus the fact that the majority of moderator functions are in que, meaning they are behind

Well, I thought it was a good idea, before I read of the new forum, which will no doubt solve the problem far quicker than your point Wink

Just trying to input some goodness that would be acceptable to the masses, obviously the fee would be in btc Wink

I'm happy with mine, I just read this and thought about thse without.. looking forward to the new forum.. I hope it has it's own image hosting too..

Or a backup image uploader if not it's own image host.
In case one function gets hacked into again default to the alternative choice  Wink

Think that could work there would need to be some sort of fee in place or requirements if people really wanted it, you can still request for them to be removed manually so inverse may be possible.
But If I recall correctly its the whole function that is disabled until the new forum arrives
Would need some clarification on that idea though.
