Change your signature on here to the site you want to promote might help, also u can use getref.com which is good for buying refferals and it is really easy 2 use! Also social media can help if you have many followers. 
Some people prefer to spam Reddit Twitter Facebook etc. with fake promos or free credits to get referrals. I don't know how successful this practice is
