Topic: How to get Merit – Cashi's useful tips from a Newbie for Newbies (Read 454 times)

I don't get it why a Newbie with only 2 merits (which he just earned from this post) is creating a guide on how to earn merits. Certainly as qualifications are needed you don't have any, from experience here in the forum you have none and just by looking at your post you don't even have a good grammar to begin with. I have a feeling you just created this thread hoping that some member will give you merits for your post.
The person after all has written, that "from a Newbie for Newbies".
Newbie, share experiences, with beginners. This is normal. And the fact that he earned merits is generally wonderful. A person will have an incentive to write good posts and on.

Another post about merit or how to and this post is also for wants to get merit.  If you're teaching newbies you can go to or move it to me Beginners & Help. We get merit by not hoping to get merit.  Post freely because there's no limitations on characters on posting.  Make it unique and meaningful.

The most appealing things in your suggestion is "try to create unique post", it is the same with my thought. There are lot of people can make good posts but they deliver it normally. So it is also good to create our unique style on how to deliver a post. Look at some example like nullius, he writes long post with some humor and sarcasm in the post. There are others who made post with infographic and statistic, which for now in my opinion, can earn a lot of merit by making it.

So my suggestion is, try to learn making a statistic and infographic, you will have a higher chance on earning merits.

You want me to demonstrate and get some merit deliberately by bitcoin cheerleading?
I leave it up to you to do this.  Cheesy

As I've already said before, this article is maybe outdated for Legendary Members because it is an article about things I read so far and if it would be important for me - as a Newbie.

OP is fairly poorly-written, with grammar and spelling that are sub-par AND most of what's written won't help anyone earn merits at all.

Also, OP, all of this has been said many times before.
Be that as it may*, I don't think OP is part of the spam problem for which the Merit system was introduced. And since so many accounts spam the forum, that automatically makes him better than (by my estimate) 95% of the posters. Therefore I've merited his post.

~ and just by looking at your post you don't even have a good grammar to begin with.

As a non-native English speaker, I find OP's post easier to read than native speakers who use some sort of slang and abbreviations.
OP could improve by using a simple spell checker, words as "ennoying" are annoying to read. But I don't think you should be expecting perfect grammar from non-native speakers. It does make me curious how my language is rated here Cheesy

* This is me showing off by using a phrase I've never used before.

Thank you very much for your point of view! This is one of the positive aspects, this article can achieve: give Newbies some spirit to write good posts instead of spamming. And if someone tries to write better posts this will also result in a better grammar and spelling.
At least I do not use copy and paste from Google translate.  Wink

I will give you a rating for your language of AAA (triple A)  Cheesy

Agreed. We should be quite happy to overlook minor spelling and grammar mistakes if the post is worthwhile and can be read and understood first time. If, however, it is such a word salad I have to read it 4 times and still don't know what you are trying to say, then I'm not wasting my time on it.

I was not aware you are not a native speaker - your English is excellent.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm not about to take advice on how to earn merit from someone with no merit.  Bear in mind that OP had none until his post here got 2 merits from eddie13.  Aside from that, OP is fairly poorly-written, with grammar and spelling that are sub-par AND most of what's written won't help anyone earn merits at all.

Also, OP, all of this has been said many times before.  It's obvious you're trawling for merit here like you're trying to pick up a girl at a bar with your (fake) gold chains and leisure suit, trying to impress her with slick talk in a language you're not entirely comfortable with.  Your post is bloated mess, actually.  So take that to heart and have fun with the merit you earned here.
People with no merit making threads about how to earn merit is the new "people with no merit telling others with no merit that the merit system is good" disguise for merit begging.
That's what I'm talking about.  I probably should've read your post before I made mine, but I wanted to blast OP as fast as I could.  lol
For sure, I'll try to improve my posting quality. Maybe we can move this to beginners and help if someone is interested in having a look at it. Please give new members a chance, even if they are not native english speaking. May I ask if you are native english speaking?

And yes, maybe my article about Merit is a little bit late here.
It's not a little bit late, it's way too late.  It's like trying to now revive George Washington's corpse with shock paddles.
Yes, I only tried to sum up good points as a Newbie. I don't know this is not desirable in this way here.

Thanks  Smiley
Yes, I'm not native english speaking and there are still some mistakes. Thank you for correcting them. I hope I can improve writing quality step by step.

Great offer, I hope I do not disappoint you. Maybe you read some of my posts in the future and see there is a progress. And thank you very much for this constructive-minded post here among these other speculations.

All the best!  Smiley

No, no, that is not begging for merit, don't say this. I've tried to make some good points, if you don't like them it's ok. And yes, maybe my article about Merit is a little bit late here.

Why do I have a feeling that you’re one of those old members with no merit(s) but with so many activities and needs to create a new account to start things over again for merits? Anyway, I might be wrong, my friend. Members are looking for new topics to discuss and your topic is just one of those we read every day in this forum. Uniqueness is the new trend for merit system not the same old topic(s). Good effort though.
First thank you for your comment. But no, I'm not an old member with no Merits, I only tried to sum up some helfpul points. It is true there are lots of posts about Merit but I think I've brought something new here we hadn't before. Time will tell if this post is helpful or not.
You seems to be one of the luckiest members here if we have a look at your Merits. So thank your for your advice to focus on unique posts. I wish you good luck, too.

I also want to add this style of posting, lots of members here are quoting the whole OP which leads to a more dirty forum, I feel like they are doing it because they want their post to be look like a well created, constructive post. If we can avoid this, we can easily see whose members are worth giving merit.

Thanks, noted. I'll collect and add it later. Thank you very much for this constructive-minded post!  Smiley

To be honest with you I thought the author of this topic got huge merit but I feel disappointed seeing you op no merit yet. Then how could you be an effective advisor if you yourself didn't have any merit. Fuck!
If you don't think my points are useful, you can make your own list. No problem.

Because it looks like that, although I give him the benefit of doubt. But I think after so many posts, about how to get merit either the best one or a good summary of them should be stickied, and if someone has somthing to add, it shoul be added in a comment, and then if it really is a useful contribution it shoul be added edited in the first post. Otherwise a year from now we will still be getting posts like this hoping to get merit.
That's true. I'll try to collect some good points and add it later to the first post.

Yeah, they are know how to earn merits but being laziness make them ignore the merit source.
I most likely give a smerit those genuine post that helpful for the community especially newbies.

I doubt this OP that he is not a real newbie, something alt account.

I said that because you don't have merit awhile ago but Now you have a merit in just a minute still I'm thinking maybe that's your alt.  Roll Eyes
That was also in my mind but it seems we can't prove it here now so much better to watch out.
Why do you think that? There are no connections trading Merit. Please avoid these accusations of Merit trading if you have no proof. This ist only speculation and a hard accusation.

It actually does look like you are paying a lot of attention to your capitalization and punctuation, trying hard, but a bit overboard with the commas..
You have some weird wording yet too like..
"These advices are" should be "This advice is" or "These pieces of advice are" as I don't think their is such a thing as "advices"..
"posts. And if you" You should almost never start a sentence with and or but. They go after commas for the most part..
"posts. If you" starting a new sentence this way is more proper..

The last days I’ve done some research to find out, how you can write quality posts to get Merit – even as a Newbie.

I’m a Newbie too and I saw some Newbies very disappointed, because they haven’t any merit yet, even their activity would be enough to be a full member. My advice: don't be discouraged!

Before you post something, read the last comments. Double posts are very ennoying. It takes some time to read the comments before, but you’ll see it is necessary to avoid double posts. And if you read all the comments you will recognize, how many ennoying double posts there are sometimes.

Just a couple examples..

I'll tell you what OP. PM me in a few months or so after you have worked hard on your English, when you are ready, show me how much you have improved, and if I think you have made good progress to better yourself I will give you merits for it.. Maybe a bunch if I have them..
