I have been part of Bitcoin talk forum for really long time now and yet I am still only a Member!
The reason you are still a Member rank that you don't know or did not want to know why you are still Member. You registered on 2017 Oct, And now it's 2023 and you are asking how the rank system works. It's really suspicious to me Smiley

But I am taking it positively, already people share the information where you can know the rank system. So my suggestion is if you want to rank up the most important things is Merit. Learn how merit works and how you can get the merits.

Note: To get merits you must give some effort into the forum.

How to get promoted from member to full member is not a big deal in the forum, but you need to have a minimum of 100 merits and 120 activities to advance from member to full member. This can be accomplished by posting or exchanging reasonable suggestions based on forum discussions. The forum community rewards you for updates and creative ideas. These are some of the most crucial things I am aware of to help you move up the ranks.

Leo is resting.
It is very funny to see someone who has been here for more than five years still asking questions like a newbie, it is either you never took the forum very seriously or you weren't visiting here regularly because even without moving to a higher rank because you don't have the number of merits required you activity would have increased to that of a Legendary member or Hero member. All you need to do to get to the next rank be it member to full member or any other rank is very simple, stay active here in the forum because the number of your activities are increased every two weeks then engage in a good discussion and contribution leading to providing useful solutions to problems here and your required merit will be given to you by other members who may notice your contribution about a certain question, topic or thread.

I have been part of Bitcoin talk forum for really long time now and yet I am still only a Member! Can someone please help or explain how this works? Thank you,
It is very simple, ranking up to a higher rank is all about your personal effort which only needs two things that I know. One, you have to create, comment a quality post then when other users see it they will merit your quality post, then second, you have to educate others who are not familiar with the system with good information that will give them knowledge about bitcoin or the whole system. Once you do these two major characteristics in the forum then you will ranking bup to the highest destination of the forum.

So all you have to do now is to make some research and reading.

Bro, you and I registered on the forum at about the same time, so I can say objectively that you devote too little time to this forum. It is obvious that you are not interested in participating in the discussion, this is what can explain the 100 messages you left during your 5 years on the forum. The last time you were here 2 years ago and now you're back and the first question that interests you is related to how to increase your rank.

Yes it's true as you said. If we refer to the OP's account, he has been here for a long time. Supposedly if he is really consistent in making posts and continues to read every thread and understands what's in this forum he has now reached account rank Sr. Members are at least Full Members. The point is if you want to increase your account, you must contribute and be consistent in this forum.
His activity isn't even enough become Full member, how he can rank up to Senior member. There are many users are have high activity but they only earn less than 100 Merits, it's because they're just joining a bounty campaign without contributing anything. The @OP doesn't need to think when he will rank up to next rank because it would force him to spam and then wouldn't get anything in the end. He may blame to anyone since they not give him sMerit.

You have been here more than last five years and seems impossible with your question about how to get promoted from member to be Full Member, due your account created before merit system adopted I don't think how come you not understand well new procedure for reaching higher level have merit points.

Could acceptable if you not active in the Forum for longer time but you have read on beginner & help board for understanding what new rule for pushing account level. I think you will understand about how to get merits point by looking other account with higher level than your, check with their merit received and push your quality post for easy receiving merit points.

So you have registered before the merit system implementation and still asking for how to rank up to Full member on forum? If you care to look there are already lot of such threads explaining about it but you didn't care to look at them also.

You have woke up after so many years of inactivity approximately 3 years as per BPIP report and have earned not a single merit so what do you expect about ranking up on forum is easy for you? Just remain active and post some quality stuff if you really want to rank up as you are still 90 merits short to your target.

This question should be asked by a newbie who just joined the forum. You have been registered since October 15, 2017, meaning you were here before the Merit system was introduced. After waking up from a long sleep, you immediately make a topic that in my opinion has no benefit at all, start reading more forum rules to find out how to promote to Full member.
You also need to improve the quality of your posts to get more merit. After seeing some of the posts that you have made, it seems normal without any of them being considered quality. Start interacting on more visited Boards (Merit Source) by leaving some quality posts there.

Lol.... naaah, my bad!

No worries. As I said, I understood.

Welcome message and Satoshi's lesson can give you some valuable advice and motivation to start your journey.

Well, OP has started his journey in 2017.
So while he indeed seems to need such links, the wording "start your journey" is inaccurate  Wink

Welcome message and Satoshi's lesson can give you some valuable advice and motivation to start your journey.

You have to learn and contribute for the forum community, then you will naturally rank up, not only to Full member but higher ranks.

It is not easy to start but don't think that you will have to climb up a mountain and think that it is impossible. You can do it, like me and many others.

Looking at your account creation time, I guess you were among the people who were airdropped equal merit to meet their current rank. I'm both new and old here, but if you just keep expressing yourself and contributing effectively, you'll be a full member before you know it. Though 100 merits aren't something you'll get in a day or two, they are something you'll get over time as a reward for adding something meaningful to the forum.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
I have been part of Bitcoin talk forum for really long time now and yet I am still only a Member! Can someone please help or explain how this works? Thank you,
...and then I get even more startled when I come across Post like this ... You mean you've been in this forum for over 5 years or so, and you don't Know what you could actually do to achieve 'em ranks? Shoulda rate this as some words outta fraustration of not getting 'em desires In the years past? Cus everything is repeated the same god-damn time in here..( and that has prolly been done more than a hundred times since your registration) what were your first motives in here??  Cry I feel sad when I realize that "even though alot is done, it doesn't mean we are getting alot more done" ....
So you're ready now, huh? I'm not seeing any chances but I just hope it works out for you. Makes quality post and keep them coming; YOUR STABILITY AND RESILIENCE IS WHAT WILL DEFINITELY EARN YOU A BETTER SPOT IN TOMORROW.....

Merit system was introduced in January 2018, you posted very well at the time, but you do not know how to rank up. That is ridiculous.

Newbies should be the ones asking this question, not a member who already rank up two ranks Cheesy it's obvious that you did not read the thread on how to rank up and you do not know how to use Bitcointalk's search form, you just exposed yourself as someone who disregards forum rules and all the other pieces of information related to members and forum activity its time to go back and check it so you will be guided on your activity here in Bitcointalk.

Although, your thread cropped it just right just good, was on point and noted too.

OK. Thanks for clarification.
Since you've quoted me and wrote right afterwards "You could as well read the rules here to get some directives as you seem like a total newbie." I considered that you're referring to me.
Lol.... naaah, my bad!
I guess it was my quoting pattern that got this all wrong although, I took it to have featured your part mainly because of the links you already provided and provide what I felt could help as well. My apologies for the misconception.

Perhaps I would look out more in course of my quotes next time and it's good you pointed it out as well. Your perception to my quoting pattern would definitely help and I got something out of this.

Good enough, OP gets the idea to the requirements of the ranking profile now. Salute NeuroticFish!

You have been here for a very long time, but in all that time you really haven't even posted all that much in the forum, that's not talking about the content of your posts you have now, but you have to be involved in the forum (through reading, posting and contributing) to earn 100 merits, you wouldn't just post sparingly and log in one day and see you have 100 merits now. Having said that, as far as the quality of your post goes, if you stick around like i have said and frequent sections that MS and users with merits go to, you'd stand a chance to slowly but surely earn merits and move up in the ranks.
Since you've quoted me and wrote right afterwards "You could as well read the rules here to get some directives as you seem like a total newbie." I considered that you're referring to me.
Who would ever consider you a total newbie, lol Grin  Grin Huh

You could as well read the rules here to get some directives as you seem like a total newbie. Newbies Read before posting and you might as well find information there very useful.
If you would have bothered to click the links I've provided, you'd see that they contain the relevant information.
Sure I did. That's the reason for my "You could as well read..." statement to expose the user to not just the ranking profile requirements but other information that could prove useful to a newbie in the forum as, thats very much a pinned but over looked post, I know i did at a time and yet, it's some basic directive to forum functionality newbies should be aware of.

Although, your thread cropped it just right just good, was on point and noted too.
