if you can invest your time you can study how the alt trading works and try to read coin movements if you master this you will able to grow your 7 btc to 17 in due time.

It would be possible to grow or reach that amount but the you must accept the risk because you wont surely make that goal without any problems encountered and also its not really easy to choose a potential altcoin it really depends on your research to a certain coin. Some may be potential but they pump for long time.

So, you need profit 10 bitcoins from 7 bitcoins. It's really possible but i think it will not instant to make 17 bitcoins from 7 bitcoins. The only instant and fast way is gambling.

Yes gambling will never serve the purpose in fact it will make you loose all your money in long run, either save it for future and if you can afford to take certain level of risk then go with trading.

I will not recommend gambling at all. You will just end up losing your 7 BTC also and your dream of making 17 BTC out of 7 BTC will always remain a dream.

Risking your money on investments would be a good idea when you really like to grow your bitcoin in to 17btc. Its a little bit hard since it would really requires time and effort in able to grow you money. Just like on investing on trading it would be possible. Same as other said just try first on small amount until you get the trading pattern which is profitable then thats the time you put huge amounts.
