Seriously? Your rank is a full member and you still dont know how to sign a message. Kinda confused. You got the answer now man they have give you the link to shorena thread so obviously your problem is solved. So can you closed this thread now and next time use search button. Thanks. Again locked this as your question was solved.
Don't be surprised if most people in the forum are not familiar with a lot of things as well as some forum rules. People are buying and selling farmed accounts for ranks so that means they can have a full member and above ranks without knowing anything.
Yes, people learn new things only they come cross its demand in their life. I have seen many people who are using blockchain.info wallet but never visit import/export privatekey tabs, moreover they never need them.

You can visit the thread of Shorena .0or you just simple create an account on blockchain then you can see the settings there on how to make verified or create an signed message Tongue im using blockchain so far. and it is soo good
May i know on what purpose you are using blockchain to create signed messages ?

Verifying signed messages or creating such one are more easier by having google search and following simple steps.
But OP here is asking about the purpose and use of having signed message.

I like to ask OP to lock this thread if already got answers for the doubt.

All you need to learn about signed messages.
Shorena's this famous thread will help any one how to sign a message. Still, I like to give a try for explaining the purpose of signing a message as OP mainly concerned about it.

what is the purpose of making signed message.

Purpose of signing a message => proving ownership of a bitcoin address.

There are lot of different occasions, we might need to prove ownership of a bitcoin address. One good example must be staking address. Refer here, if already not aware of this.

Another example :
You have some funds in your bitcoin address and you want to buy a domain in this forum's auction board.
By signing a message, you can prove yourself that you are having some funds and you are participating in that auction not for just time pass. (in real life auctions, we may need to show bank's demand drafts as proof of funds).

What is the other way to prove ownership of a bitcoin address :  by sending a small amount from that particular bitcoin address.

But signing a message has some unique benefits over 'other way of proving ownership' : it has readability and it is completely free of cost.
Good examples, still I feel Shorena's thread is more than enough for OP as Shorena has covered everything about signing message in that thread and that thread has plenty of discussions so OP might get answers for all his doubts, hopefully.
