Be yourself
The first step is to develop a healthy mental image of meeting new people. Some of us see meeting new people as a scary event. We are concerned about making a good impression. Actually, all these fears are just in our head. If you think about it, 99% of people are too busy being concerned about these very things themselves to pay attention to you. While you’re worried about the impression you make, they are worried about the impression they will make.
Maybe because you are making friends to the wrong one. If you want to make friends, you should all have common interests. So that they won't find yourself boring. You don't need to change just to fit yourself. Just be who you want to be and be better and people will accept you for who you are.
Start by doing an activity together
Be funny and just be yourself, always humble and honest. i'm sure there would be someone who appreciate you.
Nowadays I think people are more secure they don’t trust to strangers and they stick with childhood friends. In your case you saying you dating the most beautiful girl in uni, maybe that’s the case! They know who you dating and don’t wanna do nothing with her. You can be the best personality ,with fantastic humour sense ,richest kid in uni. Kids are very cruel to each other nowadays. And don’t worry a lot of friends don’t mean nothing. Keep your circle small.

It's easy to make a friend just be good to them and show a good attitude because if you have a good attitude you will get lots of friends but if you have a bad attitude you will find a friend that they will not good for you and they will good for you if you have money only
