I think the Bitcoin community should build Webinars and training center's where they could learn and practive the deep universe of Bitcoin and other altcoins. Teaching them step by step and move to more advanced complicated lessons.
Teach them the essential of Cryptocurrency asset and how its much safer than putting money into banks.

It would not be easy for them to make it understand but if they believe you or they are known one to you then you can explain the advantage, what are the features, share your personal experiences and how it has added value t you and also how someone or yourself made some money from it etc. This might just help the to get some insightful on this.

It would be difficult to teach the specifics of bitcoin or cryptocurrency to the elderly since most of them are not well versed in technology. They just need to learn the concept, how it works, how to secure, spend, and transact. People easily adjust to things that are massively used, the same as how we learned how to use the internet. Not all of us are into tech, but as it becomes a part of our daily lives it will be easily absorbed and adopted.
Elderly people in general do not want to use modern technology, their technical knowledge is very low. I agree with you that their peers should understand them with complete knowledge of technology. Besides, they can be explained about making money from here.

Without special, and most importantly, understandable training, it is hard enough to tell what it is and how it works.

In the early days palm scripts and writings on metals were used as a source to secure data in my country. These scripts can't be read by everyone, and these data will be piled up as a booklet. We can explain the present days blockchain technology relating to the old way of data saving. Surely old people will be aware of these scripts and for the reference I've added few images of the palm scripts and writings on metals.

People have got difference of opinion in educating or making people understand what is bitcoin, I've suggested mine, but none found my suggestion a possible one. Upon the same I find it hard for the elderly to know about bitcoin, because even the younger generation who are good with technology find it hard and believe the existence of cryptocurrencies.

Age is irrelevant. What matters is that a person is tech-savy and sad to say - many many folks of all ages - including the young'uns are not. Far too many folks have no idea how everyday things work (eg the internet, smartphones, browsers) and risks associated with blindly 'just using' them with no safeguards in place. Bitcoin and the plethora of shit altcoins are no different in that respect.

NotFuzzyWarm I agree with you, age is irrelevant here. It's true what you wrote about people who have no idea how
everyday things work, many don't show any wish to learn more, to educate themselves, it's like they are satisfied with
what they know. These people will never understand crypto-currencies, if they join they will learn how to set up a wallet
and how to spend crypto-currencies, not more than that.

Just make the language easy to understand
Even how Easy language you used still if the Old people cannot agree in technology and Internet then nothing will happen still.
Remember that Older generation has their own rules and beliefs and this is hard to take from them since we can try asking our grandfathers and see whats their reactions lol.

But let us just try and try maybe in the long run they will open their eyes and try to listen to what we are offering to them.

Why do they need to know how exactly those technologies or devices work? If user interface is convinient and easy to master and use, that is enough for most users. Adoption of any technology will grow only if it is easy to understand and operate. Bitcoin has this problem too, it is still a technology that require additional skills, knowledge, experience, etc. It is not yet suitable for older people, because they barely want to educate themselves, only few do. When elder people ask you how to buy a cup of coffee with bitcoin, what will you say? First of all, you need to setup a full node in order to validate own transactions and then connect your mobile wallet... sounds ridiculous. It is too early to explain that to old people, because it is complicated. It is complicated due to immaturity of technology and poor user interfaces.

parents will find it difficult to accept and understand bitcoin, the easiest thing you can do is try to show your parents bitcoin profit. it is a good move and the parents may easily accept it

Or better yet send some of your profits to their bank account.
They will surely believe there is money in bitcoin or crypto.
That's how I believe that there's something in crypto a long way back in my crypto life.
Someone close to me sent few bucks in my bank account via local crypto exchange.
And at that time, only few banks were accepting money transfer from a local crypto exchange.
That's when I started to look into crypto and using faucets to earn satoshis, and they were generous at the time because of course the value was still low.

I'm looking for the easiest way to make old people understand Bitcoin more thoroughly. I want to let the elderly know about the "Bitcoin revolution", yet I find it quite challenging to explain it to them in a way they can understand how it all works. There are some wallets that have a "user-friendly" interface, but even the basics of sending/receiving Bitcoin can have a steep learning curve for the older people. A Bitcoin wallet with built-in accessibility features, could help even elder people with vision or hearing problems to use the pioneer cryptocurrency in their daily lives.

If you happen to know of a way to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
Btw why do you think that it's hard to explain to elder people? Well, you can't make them to download electrum and save keys, seeds and etc and to be fair it doesn't worth to risk that much because in older age, memory is getting worse and you know, your bitcoins once gone/lost, gone/lost forever. On another hand, you can kindly explain that it digital money. Like they have card to get their pension from ATM, that money is on cumputer and they withdraw it via atm and after that there is zero on computer and same applies to bitcoin but it's a little bit different system, more likely encryption. You can search transactions like you can search telephone numbers in book (in past there was such thing so elders will understand). That's all, plain and simple.

I don't believe that it's hard for old people to understand bitcoin. Compare bitcoin to gold, explain how it's immune to inflation, point out that it's much easier than gold to hide, store and secure bitcoin.

You need not waste your time to make understood the old people. There are many young people who need to understand bitcoin. It is very much necessary to participate all the young generation into bitcoin transaction for creating a bitcoin revolution. When bitcoin revolution will occur, old  people will automatically eager to understand bitcoin.

Unfortunately, there's no other way to understand bitcoin apart from doing research. Part of the reason is the fact that even if bitcoin has been around for over a decade now, it is still considered a new concept. This is why any transaction involving bitcoin comes with risks, which you can only avoid or manage if you fully understand the ins and outs of cryptocurrency. The less you know, the more susceptible you are to making bad decisions. Simply put, there's no shortcut to learning bitcoin, and giving people a shortcut means putting them in harm's way. What you can do, however, is use imagery (objects, situations, or processes that your listeners are familiar with) when explaining bitcoin. Hope this helps.

Nope, bitcoin discussion is not easy to understand especially the average user. But, of course it will depend on the interest and the motivation that one has to learn. The best example to learn in the forum is to include earning or profit that one could get for free without having capital. The forum is the medium to it for learning because of wide information being desiminated here. Another thing that one could learn is a one on one learning or group discussions of informal or informal class depending on the one who organized the learning process. Laymans term is very useful for this kind of activity introducing bitcoin or cryptocurrency for the newbie of this field.

Old people cannot easily understand new technology, so you have to work hard to carry out what you are aiming for. I think it's better to start the approach first, you know old people prefer the taste, so if old people think you are a good person then they will listen to what you say. followed by a simulation of use, exemplifying the use of bitcoin, old people find it difficult to remember the theory so take a trial approach. Then that's how you work hard to do it over and over until the old people understand how bitcoin works.

Old like 95 and partially demented?

Or old like this 73 year old women?

Look what she taught herself in 2 years from 71 to 73

Her name is Joan MacDonald

I bet she could learn it.

My point is motivation comes from inside. I would think Many 71 years can't learn BTC just like many 71 year old can't do what she did in 2 years.

So my first suggestion is ask them if they want to attempt to learn about btc. If yes maybe  you have a shot. If know move on to the next older person and ask them.

If you ask how to explain Bitcoin to old people, I will share my experience. I have parents who are not young anymore, in the beginning I explained Bitcoin to them in 2017. I explained to my parents that "Bitcoin is a digital currency, which has a limited supply, and has fantastic value. easy to make transactions in large quantities anywhere and anytime. And the unique thing is bitcoin can be mined and traded ". At least that's how I explained Bitcoin to my parents.

And how about their response, I'm sure even you share that kind of experienced and knowledge the reaction is not the same with how you understand bitcoin, old folks are very skeptical in terms of currency, most likely they will just say yes but the truth is they will not really put it inside their heads. They will continue to support what they regularly use and will be hard for them to adjust in new things that they are not really understand.
