Most airdropped coins never reach high prices, because devs are usually really incompetent and there's no real project/product behind them. There are few notable exception like eBTC and others, but are a minority. My suggestion is thus to sell as soon as they get listed on exchanges.

Yes EBTC is a very good coin with good developing team behind it.

I don't see any reason to HODL airdroped coins, because most of them are just made of air and don't have any real value. So in most cases the faster you sell them the better. Though, usually such coins are made just to be pummed, so sometimes I manage to sell them for x2-5 or even higher prices. I use Blockfolio to get alarms when a coin is pummed.
Just a bit of statistics for October:
Coins got - 67
Coins sold - 18
Total value = 1,745 ETH

So I should say that some airdrops can more profitable than bounty campaigns Smiley

Hi All,

Quick question from newbie. How do you manage your airdrops? Did you sell it immediately? Do you sell half of it? Or just hold it until reach big exchanges?

Your answer is highly appreciated. Thank you.

It depends entirely coin to coin but overall most coins I aim to sell some initially if the value is good and hold a portion until it reaches bigger exchanges or until certain landmarks in their roadmap are achieved.

Don't trust airdrop tokens and don't think to hold the tokens for a long time .because they have no scope . Try to sell them when you feel the amount enough for you.

Yeah, i agree with you, sometimes many new tokens don't have any great roadmap or scope. They only update site, whitepaper and wallet apps. Nothing special.
I think once the developer already earned the token it will likely drops the price. Yes, it is hard to trust and believe that the airdrop you received will become the price becomes high.

Recently watched a documentary film about the currency. There was a guy who had a lot of bitcoins on a laptop) You know what he did? He threw it away! When the price soared to the skies, he ran to the dump as wounded in the ass, but it was too late. At such moments, you think: "I'm not the only such loser")

My candid advise is that you sell some and HODL some because some airdrops can come with surprise.

try to trade those token. sell your tokens gain in airdrops then buy other tokens which you fell will increase. Do a research about tokens you want to buy it helping you to decide what token to buy. and dont forget the golden rule in trading buy low sell high.

I am mostly holding them and keeping track using blockfolio. The problem is now is so much shit tokens being airdroped so I am rather sure they will not be worth anything in the near future but I am willing to lose that 5-20$ in hope that at least some of them will be big and make up for all the shitty ones.

The best move is to hold them until such time when the company or team releases the product or service in the market. Because, if you would get rid of them early, their value is not actually the market value, but only on its initial valuation. Therefore, by holding it, you could sell it for more profit in the future.

There is like 10 airdrop a day, how can you thought it'll bring you money ? Who the hell will buy all this random copy/paste erc20 token?

But to be honest, there are some new airdrop that bring some money, like LTG, ETG, or eBG. Unfortunately, they detected as scam token.

Since they are free, I'll hold them for a year, in case any of them turn out to be worth anything. Costs me nothing to hold. Most will be worth nothing, but one winner will make holding worthwhile.

I prefer to keep them in the wallet. Anyway, they came in free thus it is expected that many are shitcoins. But with keeping them; say for a year, the real deals will do justice to all your keeping.

I consider airdrops as "dividends". I would not have them in the first place without having the coins I have, therefore I don't sell them, just let them appreciate. It's fair for the project doing the airdrop as well, for example, OMG recently gave out a good portion of their total supply and distributed it to ETH holders. Would be a rough move if everyone would sell OMG after they got it and convert it to ETH, it defeats the entire purpose of the airdrops which makes the entire thing useless. Most projects do airdrops to simply increase their user count and for people to find out more about the coin and what it offers. Either way, since they are not worth all too much (depending on your holdings) it's usually not even worth converting them (time/reward ration is low).

The amount received on airdrops is very little, so yes I hold. No point selling for pennies, probably some of them will grow in the long term, who knows.
