If you guys are still stuck, you should check this guide out. It was the most useful for me because it not only gives clear directions but has pics.. http://cryptocur.com/litecoin/litecoin-ltc-gpu-mining/
And for a pool, I would recommend minelitecoin.com - 1% fee, detailed graphs of individual and pool performance, user friendly control panel, small amount of members so higher payout, and rapidly growing. Best of luck with LTC mining, and I hope that you all profit from it. Cheers.

I was at MineLitecoin.com, I loved it since I could see my shares skyrocket and my rising rank, but now the web frontend seems to be down but the 8332 port seems to still be working?
But I don't want to feel like I'm in Cyprus, I don't like to feel like I'm fenced out of my own account.

Understandably DDOS attacks are common without a hardware Firewall.  And as competitive as it is, DDOS filtering and data sharing is rare among pool operators.

Burnside's pool and others seem to be stable, but I'm going to take it slow and see what stability each one offers.

I built a small mining pc for litecoin and gaming and was happily hashing at ~500kh for a few days using cgminer

Then the other day when i started my cgminer i got an error message but turned out it was because the pool i was mining on was down and i hadnt set a failover pool.

but now i can only gt a max of ~50kh and cgminer always says dynamic mode is on when it starts.
i havent changed anything in the configuration file and have tried removing cgminer miner and downloading it again several times

i have the amd catalyst with latest drivers installed

cards are 1 Radeon 5870 and 1 Radeon 6870

Does anyone have any suggestions how i might get my hash rate back up?

I started mining at Give Me LTC and every single share I submit is rejected.

Not sure what is going on.

It is likely that you have incorrectly configured your miner to hash sha-256(bitcoin) vice scrypt, or you are using a bitcoin only miner.

So I would assume the competition with Litecoin mining wouldn't be as tought as with Bitcoin minging. I wonder if you can still do it with GPUs and do well even though you don't have an ASIC.

I've been mining Litecoins for a couple days now using Nvidia. The implemtation here does a great job of utilizing Nvidia's GPU: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1741471
