Of course gambling is a method of wasteful spending but indeed that depends on the discretion of the player and not others. All gamblers think they can make a lot of money by spending it on casinos and become millionaires in that manner. But this is not true as most of them are addicts and end up in debts due to high spending and cant get on with life anymore. One must control their emotions and control gambling to a responsible amount.

Gambling is not more wasteful spending, as you put, than any other thing in which people like to spend their money, just look at movies, people go to the cinema to watch a movie they can watch for free in a few years on television and to buy overpriced food, that is as wasteful as gambling if you think about it.

To bet everything with just a single bet is not recommendable. I don't think it's a smart way of gambling because it's like an all in play. yes in most of the casino games we are depending on our luck. if we are lucky then we can really make good profit from gambling there, but if we are not luck they it is not such possible to make money because there is no involvement of experience and skill in casino gambling, while in sports gambling we can really use our experience and skill.
