We must to wait and see if the new coin will prove itself more profitable than the original. I think it's help the miners. Good stuff with comments by Charlie Lee and developers https://en.creaptomania.com/litecoin-hard-fork-due-on-february-19-meant-to-help-the-miners/

so for this Hard Fork, what will be the different from the original Litecoin? Since i think the Old Litecoin still good with a fast confirmation for every transaction

Also interested.

Would love to get into litecoin cash but I'm pretty conflicted and unsure about it so far.

I fear for Litecoin's price after the date of the hard fork which is around the end of February...?  I think it could crash well below the price before all this Lcash craziness took place due to panic.

Personal disclosure:  Holding Litecoin (long term).  Sad
Litecoin wont have any forks,as the founder of LTC already announced that these so called LTC forks are just scams, most of the people should know that these projects are unofficial or the official team isnt involved, clearly scammers that want to use LTC's name to scam most of the people.
You are aware how Litecoin started? As a fork of bitcoin. It is all open source and if someone wants to start his own crypto - they can do that. This is why we have literally hundreds of different altcoins out there. But until recently people had the decency to use different names for their alts. The name part - calling some altcoin bitcoin cash or litecoin cash, just to lure people into thinking it is somehow related - that part I am very strongly against

Thank you for educating me about altcoins.  It was very enlightening.  But the question still remains, and I'm gonna rephrase it basing on your post.

Since Bitcoin Cash aka Bcash and Litecoin Cash are, according to you, luring people into thinking that they are somehow related, then are the both of them scams?
Scams is too strong a word. But what they are attempting to do - picture themselves as the "real thing", while in fact being a minority chain split - this I am very strongly opposed to. Some organizations behind the "cash" fork go even farther, insisting on calling the old blockchain with "legacy" postfix and dropping the "cash" postfix from their name. Isn't it an attempt to impersonate?

Just to be on the safe side, it´s best if you manage to store your Litecoin on a device for which you have the private keys (I store then on a Ledger Nano S). In the past, I have seen some exchanges manage forks for you, but normally only if the back the new coin being forked.

I guess that those airdrop hunters will not care about that, it seems a lot of people are still waiting for that shit scam fork coin. Even charlie already made an awareness for us about the possibility of litecoin cash scam fork coin. Litecoin was different with bitcoin and it's still having active community behind it.

So I guess you agree that Bcash is also a scam and 'scammers want to use BTC's name' then?  Bcash started out the same way you know...  As a contentious hard fork.

If Litecoin Cash gets a lot of attention, the price of Litecoin will rise until the hard fork and then a correction will occur. If previous BTC forks are any indication. LTC is INMHO a cryptcoin to hodl.

How do you hodl your LTC? Hardware or desktop wallet? If desktop, which one?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it true that for every 1 LTC, we will be getting 10 Litecoin Cash? I don't know if that's true, but I'm kind of looking forward to this one.
That is what it says on Litecoin Cash website, a 10:1 claim ratio: https://litecoinca.sh/

You can't claim it from exchange if the exchange itself doesn't credit you. You need to withdraw it, wait for the fork snapshot and then deposit it back in the exchange, it you want.
So, which desktop wallet is safest, best, easiest for keeping Litecoin and own the private keys?

  • Jaxx
  • Electrum-LTC
  • Exodus

If I had Litecoin in my possession, I would like to take this opportunity to take advantage of the hard fork that will create Litecoin Cash. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it true that for every 1 LTC, we will be getting 10 Litecoin Cash? I don't know if that's true, but I'm kind of looking forward to this one.

Now we are hours away from celebrating the Chinese New Year, it seems the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins are dipping a little bit after rallying to $10,300+ just hours ago.

LITECOIN wont have any fork! CHARLIE LEE has already ANNOUNCED THAT THERE WILL BE NO FORK according to his twitter post.Clearly these so called forks are SCAM PROJECTS get some research folks do not be fooled by these scammers!People shouldnt investing without any proper research with these coins,im sure most of you will still join these FAKE FORKS.

No need to get shouty. No one said anything about investing. It is about being able to claim new coins in the future after a hard fork. If someone wants to fork LTC, they can and there is nothing Charlie Lee can do about that. I am not recommending people should claim Litecoin Cash, it is just nice to be prepared and keeping your options open.

@henryfekok

Yes, I know that, hard forks of popular coins who keep the name are suspicious. I am not saying I am going to claim my Litecoin Cash, I just want to be able to claim it if in the future I want to do it.
I have claimed my Bitcoin Cash and I am glad I did. I haven't claimed any other Bitcoin forks yet, but I can if I want to. I want my LTC away from an exchange in a wallet (desktop) where I own the private key.
