This is for those who use wallets with cheap transaction fee, such as ethereum based wallets.
There are some who cannot yet afford to purchase a hardware wallet. On that note, i have a suggestion on how your wallet can be safe from hackers. I have always noticed wallets that get easily hacked are those that are subject to public view.
Try as much as possible to have a separate cold wallet address that you do not copy and paste the private key, and neither do you share the address with anyone. You can use it to store most of your valuable coins.
Even if you want to transfer any coin or token to an address belonging to another person, first transfer it to your public wallet before sending it out.

You should avoid phishing sites and all links point you somewhere, because it can be ascertained that something that looks interesting is better it is a big lie. You can also go offline wallets that can be integrated with metamasks to make it more secure.

You intend to say that we should buy a hardware wallet like Ledger, Trazor or other hardware wallet brands is available on the world, is right? Honestly, the developers of any cryptocurrency still want the crypto user's use the core wallet (the first wallet release or the official wallet can sync blockchain data). Because more people use core wallet, it can create a strong system to against attack 51% on the network or attack hacking by the hacker.

Anyone who can't afford a hardware wallet is better off keeping his or her private keys far away from the internet, store it in a paper, memory card you're not using and put them somewhere safe.

always keep your private key in a safe place. I mean sage it on your usb and keep it. Also don't open links or sites which you are not sure because it will get only your information that later on will hack your wallet it is called a pishing site. Don't give your password of private key to anyone.

Protecting wallet from hackers is a first important thing to know when you are into cryptocurrency. I will just advise you not to reveal your private key to anyone even your friends that you know are wicked. Don't as well reveal your password to anyone. The two are crucial to be taken care of.

Most importantly, do not tell others about important information from your wallet, especially about passwords, private keys, and emails, this is very important in wallet security. Hackers are more active in finding security holes.

So you mean we must have two wallets with two transactions to be safe? doesn't that make the cost more than double

Do not download anything without an official link, let alone an extension for Chrome, like Hola.
The more hacking methods, which are able to secure our account are our own, with careful and careful look at everything.

I would advise you never to enter your private key, at least try it never and nowhere to enter
At home, you can use different extensions to the browser, such as metamask

Always store your keywords in a safe place that only you can access them, preferably written down so that hackers cant access them through your computer. and most importantly, use a hardware wallet, since the private keys never leave the device.

I think the best thing to do would be to use a computer that is connected only to the internet when doing transactions on exchanges. It should be password protected so that nobody can access it except you.

It is advantageous to consider introducing a working framework with a high level of assurance, for instance, Qubes, Unix or Linux. These are the most secure working frameworks on the planet. They are more hard to split and their setups make them less defenseless.

Those rules are revealed very vastly, properly store your passwords, properly choose them, have an anti-virus, and all those things that are really easy, but most of the guys are neglecting them.

I think it will be very difficult to avoid the hacker when you still store your wallet online. But, we can minimize it by making more than one wallet and store our private key offline. Additionally, using Meta mask may be much better than the MEW.
But, if you have had more profits, it is better to buy the hardware wallet first.
