How exactly does this work? Is this an official part of the forum or does someone else run this?
It's unofficial but not frowned upon. It copies each thread from these forums about once per minute or something like that, so frequent edits / quickly deleted posts will be missed. It seems to be lagging more these days.

I believe bitcointa.lk is actually created by cedivad, and the service announcement thread here is https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcointalk-the-bitcointalk-community-with-a-2014-forum-software-515932

Replace lk.org in the url with .lk
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-see-the-original-post-716639
https://bitcointa.lk/index.php?topic=716639

Edit: Actually not working, it usually works, but looks like it hasn't synced yet, it hasn't been very reliable lately unfortunately, I got a lot of use out of it.

I did tried it myself but it didn't worked, I also search the individual post of the user and the thread he has opened himself through his profile page but it is only showing the posts made till monday, so maybe I should wait 2 more days and then check it.

I have also tried to search through my posts but the same problem is there, I don't see my posts after monday.

Would if be ok, if I contact you by PM?

I can't really help you directly, but if you want to pm me the details of the situation I can tell you if it would be something theymos would help you with and pass it along with a recommendation.

If a user opens a thread , makes a post and later edits it and if someone has not quoted the original post, is there a way to see the original as it was made at first?  Huh
Search engines and crawlers won't actually crawl threads that fast. If they edited within minutes of posting, there is a chance it may not be shown up. Although bitcointa.lk may have since they cache the thread content once in a while. You can always contact Theymos to recover deleted post.

Only Theymos can surely see all the edits in posts.

But you can try your luck on waybackmachine.org , there are savings from different times. But its not warranted that your topic will be there, neither that all edits will be there.

I tried waybackmachine.org but no luck.
