Look for projects that have a chance of at least generating enough revenue in the short to medium term to operate.

I am following Modex Tech and Alttradex closely at the moment for October, looking forward to seeing if there is anything interest coming for November too.

Good luck.

As the statistics show, right now you can put money in almost any popular cryptocurrency project and make a great return over just a few months.

But this strategy is fragile, especially as competition increases, and fragile (feature-only) coins will have a difficult time surviving if they don’t pivot. History has shown that feature-based technologies always get replaced by technologies with platforms that incorporate those features.

You check and have a look to announcement thread and related threads and comments without getting lost in bitcointalk.
There will be some projects that you are going to interest.
Then you could check these project's details like website, team, system roadmap etc.

I'm learning a lot from this forum. I must say that what you said was quite true that the ICO should be check first even its details. It is to avoid misfortune in the end of the ICO.

Check for roadmap, team, working demo, etc. Just use your common sense. If there is a single thing you don't like - skip it. There are too many project around anyway.
And have investment plan like investing just 2%-5% of your funds into single project.

I tend to avoid advice from forums and Reddit style postings because crypto is so full of shillers and fake posts. Yet, sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough on these platforms. I'd recommend joining a crypto focused group on Slack or Telegram. Smiley Cheers!

One thing you can do is to research a lot about many coins and look at what coins you like. And when you get to pick what coin you like, research more about that course n. Start asking questions(only if you have failed to find answers yourself), read about reviews and most importantly, take time to read their white paper.  So you can have a great idea about the coin you like which then can help you with deciding.

Basically the wisest way to select is to review first the development team, know their accomplishment and their common project they  were involve. Honestly, it so risky selecting knowing the posibility of the unsuccessfulness of a project. But remember that a good project always  attracts the majority, it is also a way of selecting knowing the volume of people engage with the project. There were discussion to detemine what are those attractive projects.

It's very important to be picky when you are planing to invest your money in ICO. When it's about your money i'm sure everyone here is picky Smiley . First thing for me to check about a project is ambition of it. What they are aiming is very important because a project that won't have any use in real life is worthless and will fade away eventually. Then i'd check if the dev team and project leader are trustworthy people.

just look for the team first. If the team looks good then think if the project they want to do is possible and real project.
some ICO just want to raise money and put their coin in the market then abandon it.

There are few websites reviewing new ICOs but you can't probably choose good ICOs among many projects except popular ones like monetha etc. because there are lots of projects. Wait for more regulations regarding ICO otherwise you may lose your money.
The first thing to look out for is the team, the amount the team is looking to raise, the idea those it worth it, What I noticed now is that most of these ICOs websites are there promoting some coins and since they are in business to make money you don't want to rely on them making finnancial decisions for you

See the devs behind the project, do they have some sort of great achievement or not?, do they have worked in the same field as their project or not?. and after that, you can start to read their whitepaper to know furthermore about their project. by that, you can start to decide to whether invest or not into the project.
a good project oftenly hyped by so many people, so if i recommend you, follow the hype train.

The project aims at solving a real problem or do real thing is my first choice to know carefully, and if there is a product , that let me make the decision to invest .
I never invest in a project which just has a idea only like EOS.

Use Telegram, BitcoinTalk, Google and many other websites that discuss ICO or CryptoCurrency News.

Usually, articles are written about ICO's so you should be able to find out more information.

Always check their website, the whitepaper and you should get an understanding of what is good to invest.

You can participate in ico projects that are not domiciled in your country.
do not invest when pre-sale,better you invest when a project is 50% reach hardcap it is the safest step to invest to a project in my opinion.
Purchasing on pre-sale is somehow risky since we wont even know if the project would be a success or not.If you can able to take the risk and made some investment and the project did succeed then for sure you would end up on having large profits but usually same as you said i do invest when the ico status is almost 50% on its hardcap which i can assume that it is successful already.

I like to check it from cryptocompare and than research about the project on bitcointalk/reddit/twitter/slack etc.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/ico/#/upcoming

Good moves that to check ICO's background first before investing on it, even your country ban your ICO you can also invest ICO's in other county.
