You should find a other hobby that will keep you busy and your mind and time away from gambling that is the best option that I know and that can work.
But if you do not manage to find something else that you might like then it will become really hard.

Try looking up Gamblers Anonymous. My friend stopped drinking 15+ years back and he does not avoid alcohol.  He used a program to recover and that has given him the tools to not be affected by the constant presence of alcohol.

Gambling is not a money making activity so better focus on a money making activity like devoting more time in your job (day job and online job), in that way you will be able to spend your quality time that will give you benefits in the future.

I think you should try to  dedicate more time to something  more productive than this , something that you could also enjoy. As time goes  by, you probably would be able to  move on to better things.

yes that is good idea, but if you are addicted then it is not such an easy job, you required a lot of struggle for it and only then you can be able to quit gambling because i have seen so many people who are stop gambling for so many times but then started it again.

it is hard to leave gambling. maybe you should have a new hobby more fun as playing games or hanging out with your friends or more
Its really hard to leave in gambling if you don't try to live but if you try to leave gambling you can just dont play gambling every day just control your self and everything will be fine i know because im addicted in gambling too where i control my self to not to play everyday.
the problem are when the addiction beat your brain your intelligence which actually the important part to control everything include your emotion to not gamble anymore and just hold on it.

in the end you will just gamble again , better you ask for a professional help it is the only way if you seriously want to leave gamble.
if you really engage deeply a professional attention should be needed its like drug addiction you can no loner control your mind its always gamble appearing from your mind so better to ask some professional help.
as some people considered gambling as a disease then yes you need a proper treatment.

you can not just distract something strong like gambling addiction just by finding a new hobby , an addiction hard to be cured with that way. people need more than just a distraction.

Stuff that distract you from gambling: Kids, family & friends, hobbies including gaming (at least you'll be addicted to that rather than addicted to losing your money)

The problem with distractions is that it takes just a second for you to gamble, and you may end up losing quite a bit.
It is important to restrict the access to money which can be used in gambling.
You need to understand that it can ruin your life and you need to find something else to do so that you can forget about gambling. That is the best way if you ask me.
Find some friends and find a hobby together with friends it will be allot easier.

I know a recovering addict and there is no “staying away” from anything. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, these things are all around us and cannot be avoided.
No i dont agree these things can be avoided if we make a strong will and we have a supportive family or friends because i am the one who was a gambling addicted, but at that time my family supported me and helped me get over that addiction. And its same with other addictions as well they can be overcome and can be avoided.

Surely most people that  are in gambling sites, are there  because they want to gain profits.  So if you find another way  to make profit, this may help you to  stay away from gambling.

hi

i am getting addicted to gambling. And i am loosing a lot of money.I am loosing what i can't afford to lose.its sad that when you start loosing its just busted me again and again.at last i gamble for fun but now when i am getting addicted i am loosing too much.

Any suggestions are welcome  Smiley

The best way to start with on quitting gambling is to find a support,

Support in a way of emotional support, it can be from your friends, relatives, partners or even your co-gambler.
and another effective way is to don't stop at all, take it slowly, reduce your bet from time to time.

and eventually stop betting.

Focus on your job and when your time is free do your hobby and if you don't have a hobby, find a hobby that takes much times to do, like fishing, reading and many else. It will make your forget about gambling.

Yup, if you have a job, you won't have time to gamble, I think it is much better than having a hobby...Most of the time we are at the gambling site because of money and I think job is a better solution to that, or, if you want hobby, I think you should do DIY's or anything that you know you could gain either money or knowledge...  Smiley
If we have a job and we are contented with the salary we are receiving then we will surely not gamble anymore for money but instead we will treat gambling as just a way to entertain ourselves and for sure we will not be addicted unlike those gamblers who are desperate in making money through gambling.

Best thing to do is to  search for another hobby that  is going to keep you busy but  will cost less money than gambling . If you are able to do  that then I am sure  that you are going to  be able to quit  with in not time...
Any hobby wold help you as long as it is not related to gambling, that is the way to stay away and since we have unique interest but I would recommend that for someone to quit of stay away in gambling, he should focus on sports and productive activities in life.

Its more attractive to change hobby to play dota 2 or league of legends because its more addictive than gambling.
Before i was addicted in bacarat and and poker but i realize its not worth because i am looking for profit but i didnt get any good result..
Thats why i change my hobby into egames.. and sometimes im betting in e-sports nitrogen sports but its not the case its reducing my gambling activity..

well in that case not all people in the world love e-games, in your case it works coz you love playing those games but what if someone don't like playing those? anyway a general idea is to focus on something that you will be more productive
