HOW TO STOP HACKERS TO HACK YOUR CRYPTO WALLET
Protect yourself from cyber criminals

Good day to all of you guys I am EdsnowAngel a programmer and a bit security tester in different platforms. Now I heard to my friends a lot of concerns saying "please help me my bitcoin wallet was hacked!!"
Ok ok first thing first when your bitcoin wallet gets compromised then your funds was send in different wallet then it is irreversible meaning no return of funds!! so I wanna tell everyone how to protect your bitcoin wallet from such kind of situation.

1st: Protect your GMAIL or EMAIL ACCOUNT

We all know we use GMAIL as our email provider for such accounts like blockchain then we can recover and approve login with email in some wallets, now when your email account was targeted and get compromised then say goodbye to your bitcoin. To secure your bitcoin wallet(ex: blockchain or other) go to your google account settings. and then turn on the 2FA(2nd factor authentication) here is the guide on how to do it: STEP BY STEP GUIDE

2nd: Use your own DEVICE or COMPUTER/PHONE

It's a very bad idea to use someones device(ex:from friend) to make a transaction in your bitcoin wallet why? because first you don't know what is the capability of that person regarding that matters and you don't know if that phone has a lot of malwares and spywares. So we cannot say that you are safe using someones device to make transactions.

3rd: Always backup you PK's or PRIVATE KEYS

This is the most important thing to remember for everyone using your ETH or BTC wallet without backing up your Private keys then you can't recover you wallet in case you forgot your wallet.PK's are very important but there are thing you should do first. Make sure you store your PK backup somewhere that you only know and not from your computer because there are some spyware that might inside of your computer that can steal that file so make sure you back it up print in a paper and hide it to the place where you only know.

4th: Don't open links from malicious emails

This method was called email phishing where an attacker will send the same email in thousands of random users once the victim will click the link in that email then his or her device was compromised to avoid this please do not click the links included in the email immediately please always have time to check who is the sender of that email and if that email is came from the site where it supposed to came from.

5th: Do not trust PUBLIC WIFI

It's quite good to have access with free wifi's but have you think this: IS THIS A SAFE NETWORK? without you knowing maybe some of the people connected to that same network may have idea and skill on how to sniff passwords and credentials this method was so called DNS SPOOFING or SNIFFING if you want to use public wifi then use it not just with your bitcoin transactions.

6th: Do not login on Suspicious links

This method is called PHISHING where an attacker  will send you a link to login with your bitcoin wallet luring you with the legitimate site example is:
the real site is: https://www.blockchain.info/
the fake site is: http://www.blockchain.ga/

then once you login to the fake site then the hacker or attacker will have now your credentials. Please always check for the green lock on the url bar and the word HTTPS in the link.

so this are some of the way to stop hackers to hack your bitcoin or crypto wallet. If you have other information then you can comment it down and lets help others.

Backing your private key on a paper and kept in a secure wardrobe or locker is the safest method of keeping your crypto funds safe. In addition to using 2fa to lock all your accounts. The best method I will add is never put the amount of money you can't afford to lose on a exchange. Make sure to use a cold wallet if you are really serious about this business.

you can use an offline wallet to get your job done and the ledger wallet or trazero wallet made for it obviously the environment is not safe at all so many money stolen people so you have to choose the most secure
I was also advised to use an offline purse that would be more reliable than even a ledger. But for this it would be nice to have a separate hard drive or laptop to form transactions

Thank you for this informative discussion. May I Ask some side topic. So I bought Nano s ledger for my coins and bitcoin. I heard that they have an update from it but sadly I did not update it yet. Would it compromise my coins and tokens inside? What should I do best? Should I update it or just remain it as it is?

Security of our wallets is in our hands only. Do not allow hackers to use weak points - do not visit suspicious sites, install more secured wallet with all secure options enabled, be more attentive.
absolutely right because we are the one responsible for our security

Another thing is that joining a lot of airdrops could pose a threat to your wallet being hacked like your ETH wallet whereas the address is always necessary for you to be eligible for the reward. Sometimes, due to the carelessness of the user, there are chances that user's eth wallet is getting hacked by other users because they accidentally entered their private key which is just plain stupid. The main point here is that, we should always be careful on our credentials to avoid these type of incidents.

It is in your hand how to keep safe your wallet. There are various ways:

1. Put a strong password on your wallet. Keep your all password dump in a password protected file.

2. Never use public WIFI.

3. Always change password in a week.

Use metamask extension to your browsers so that you wont get phished as it is blockin malicous websites,or potential phishing sites.Have some good anti viruses and anti-malware sofrwares fro your computer and most importantly use hardwallet so that if ever your computer has been infected by these things you will still have some protection as hardwallet neesd to have some phrase and password to proceed thru your transactions.

Sometimes when our wallet is hacked its all because of our stupidity and ignorance. Many of us isn't aware of suspicious links and sites that is why we are so vulnerable when it comes to hackers. I know that hackers can't just steal your money without you allowing them. This is a very good post at least we can be aware on how to avoid being scammed and infiltrated by those hackers and try to steal our hard earned money for our future.

Everyday lots of wallets are being hacked it's because of mainly human error on our part. So let's all be cautious about some suspicious emails and stop visiting porn sites and other malicious websites that could potentially infect your system with spywares.

yes absolutely right and sometimes people show their crypto wealth online making hackers more easy to see who to attack and who their next target.

Also, do not trust "trusted" online wallets that much. As you may have known, MyEtherWallet is being attacked too often and the site DNS is being hijacked. You may prefer using local copy or another well-known software wallet...

Keep your private keys at multiple locations and in a safe storage (preferably not a digital one)

Yes probably safer to store PK in not digital plave one way I preffered too

You can greatly reduce the risk of theft of your cryptocurrency if you use cold wallets, such as Ledger or Trezor, for example.
As for me - it is rather comfortable to have Ledger and use it (for MEW login for example) everywhere without any fears.

Yes sir but sometimes people want's free wallets
Free wallet is very good because the hacker doesnt know the codes you have to keep it safe storage or use it not on the wifi then it will be ok.

sometimes free wallets are not that just secure most of then are prone to hacking like dns spoofing and cookie stealing but there are free wallets that are secure  if the user will do some precautions too,

People, please. This is your private and important financial account with several valuable units of information, don't ever commit this mistake even for the smallest of things, it's like using your friend's car for a trip that you don't know when you're coming back, or using his pants for no reason. Keep your wits about you.
