Regardless of those who replied to this topic, did anyone check how long OP has been in this forum? I somehow think this guy was trying to find out on whether creating such a shit topic can help him in getting a few merits. Such attitude of getting merits has become a common on this board.

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with the topic OP created. I’ve been around for a while, but even I didn’t know how to upload GIFs on the forum since I don’t use them myself. I’ve seen them around, especially in the WO thread when I pop in to check out some memes post. For me, this isn’t a shit topic at all.

I think after this topic it would be a good decision for me to monitor post and new topics that are similar and are symmetric, as this is has become a regular activity on this board.

On the other hand, animation can be a special attraction if it's related to cryptocurrency discussions, forums, or business promotions.
I don't think the post race post is animated. Are you only referring to the animated link? That being said, I do like that animation even if it was embedded in a post, although I'd ignore a user who quotes the post without any editing. I don't think stuff like that is common though. Probably for the better since I don't want my browser to render animated images multiple times in a row.

I want to point out that sometimes animation is necessary because it can contain a lot of information that cannot be conveyed using only static images.

Although the animation made by Bitmover cannot be seen directly in the post, the animation link shows that if you want to get all the information, you need to click the link because the screenshot image in the post does not include detailed information.

Then, on the avatar animation, you may not see that the user always posts using animation. However, when you open all the links to his posts from the beginning, won't you always see the animation embedded under his account name on the left?

By the way, in other similar forums, signatures are even made by inserting animations.

Well, the animations in this thread are already pretty annoying. I hope you reconsider to use animations only rarely and wisely.

There's likely a good reason why there are few animations, at least in most of the threads I visit and read. It's often not very funny, just annoying. You don't want to promote eye cancer, do you? Joke aside, if I spot an user who irritates with animations or overuses them, this user quickly earns a spot on my ignore list.
If people love gifs, meme, funny things, they can join social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok. They can get a lot of funny things but side effect is harm for your eyesight, distraction your focus on the main flow of discussion and more.

This forum is for discussion, and it's mainly in texts, not in graphics or animated gif.

If the content of animated images (in the form of GIFs, etc.) is just for fun and is often used in every post, then this could disturb other users. On the other hand, animation can be a special attraction if it's related to cryptocurrency discussions, forums, or business promotions.

Example:

We actually should not worry so much about how things are used in the forum because everything is vulnerable to misuse;
  • Talk about image, people can dump annoying images with width and height dimensions.
  • Colours could be abused also. I have seen people who love painting all their texts in colours or bolds
But gif is the less and unlikely abuse I have seen so far in the forum.
It's probably because limited people know how to make gif and upload it for ready use in the forum. It's more easier to use colors for texts, upload graphics and attach them in posts.

gif files are less common used and people will have to created it by themselves or get it from other sources, but size limitation is a barrier for them so that they can give up.

By the way, i just found out that there is a limit implemented in this forum regarding the maximum size of media, thanks for the useful information Despairo.

In addition to the image file size limit of no more than 2.5 MB, there are several other technical rules when users want to include images in their posts on Bitcointalk, as explained by the admin below:

Image rules are:
- Must be less than 2.5 MB
- The entire transfer must take less than 3 seconds.
- The proxied server must not keep the connection open for "a long time" without transferring data.

In addition to using the GIF format, you can also use the APNG format in animated images, such as the following example:

Hello, how are you all?

I need a help, basically I upload photos in my post using Talkimg, but I don't know how to upload GIF, so if you can explain step by step how to upload GIF in post, it would be great for me. would have been Hope you guys can help me.
Ever since I joined the forum it's been easier for me to make use of Talkimg and I've pretty much been using it for quite a long time that I don't really recall when I last made use of another image hosting site to upload photos and stuff I wanted to post on the forum. From my experience so far TalkImg has been good at uploading and image file like (jpeg, PNG........ ) and even GIFs too.

All you have to do is make sure that the GIF file you are trying to upload isn't larger than around 2.5MB and this is simply because you are trying to make sure that you don't get prompted that the file is too large and you should make use of the TalkImg compressing tool. It works but I won't advise making use of it. Make sure to compress your GIF elsewhere and proceed uploading it and it should work just fine.

GIF is one thing people tend to misuse. The process has been said already but be mindful of the type of GIF you posting or the thread you using it on.
Some do complement a post and bring more life to it while some are just annoying shits that disturbs reading immersion.
Learning now and having the twitchy fingers shouldn't be a reason to post a GIF
Make it count.

It's the same as uploading an image, all you need to do is:

1. Find/create the image you want to display on the forum.
2. Upload them using Talkimg [1].
3. Get the full BBCode provided, and you can immediately paste it into your post.

You can use gif in your posts and Despairo helped you but it's annoying and you need to avoid gif as most as possible.

Years ago, admin disabled right to upload animated avatars that are annoying and forum community complained too much about these animated avatars. I am sure that gif if overused will be annoying too.

Stop animated images in FireFox / Tor browser / Chrome

OK, APNGs are now detected. Old ones are grandfathered for now, in part because people have ongoing campaigns, but in the future I might (or might not) go through and remove them.

There's nothing different with uploading an image, make sure the size of your GIF is lower than 2.5 MB because the forum not accept more than that. You can use resize tool like this one https://ezgif.com/resize

After you upload, make sure you copied the BBCode link.
