It's a simple task to follow, it shouldn't confused you, if you have the private key to any of you wallets where by the coin is  stored all you have to do is connect the wallet to uniswap and if u want to purchase is just to use the ETH in your wallet and purchase.

Ho exactly do I use uniswap and can it be used with my coinbase account
Found a coin I want to get and its listed on uniswap but I can not see it in the drop down menu here

https://app.uniswap.org/#/swap
However it is listed and paired with eth when I go here https://info.uniswap.org/pairs
How do I get the coin do I make an account or just sync a wallet to the account and if so will coinbase wallet do

I don't know why you want to choose coinbase as wallet to trade on uniswap, because i do not find it safe. Also, i am not sure coinbase supports all erc20 tokens. I will recommend that you use the TRUST wallet app for your trading on uniswap. Trust wallet gives you the security and confidence that you seek.

To use trust wallet, click on the browser, paste the uniswap trade link; once the webpages loads; you accept to trade and trade on.

If you have a metamask account, you can send whatever coin you have on coinbase to metamask and you can definitely use that to "swap" nowadays as well. Without using uniswap, without using anything else, just have that token on your metamask, click on it, and click swap button and it will find you the best case for swapping it.

I wanted to do something like that with my WCK and it requested 11 dollars for me to do that, the coin itself is barely 2 dollars so I didn't do it but honestly you do not need anything else than metamask and swap button at metamask is more than enough. The good part is, metamask checks out plenty of places and not just uniswap, they do check uniswap as well but check many other places so at the end you are getting the best price you can for your token.

Login to your metamask wallet, it could be a firefox/chrome browser extension, and then browse the uniswap website and then connect your metamask.
Make sure you have an ETH to pay for your transaction. Privacy has a price, a high price by the way, get ready to be disappointed if you find the trading/transaction fee to be higher than on the exchange.

This is the easiest way to do it, using metamask wallet. Open uniswap on the browser and open your metamask wallet on your browser extension. Once your online with your metamask wallet, uniswap website will prompt you too connct to your wallet, and choose metamask. The one open with metamask is the one that will connect with uniswap site. If you cant find your coin, just paste the contract and your coins will appear.

Even me I got confused using Uniswap, I think you need to connect you wallet to uniswap if I am not mistaken dude, Then after that I don't know what's the next one to do for this concept. Because, I used Metamask to connect it into UNI, but I will observe and read here if someone will show some a bit tutorial on this here in the forum.
the same thing i did, because i linked it to the metamask wallet. so i haven't tried linking it with coinbase. maybe I will listen to the explanation or tutorial if anyone wants to provide a method.
but it doesn't seem too difficult, because in Uniswap there are features that can be selected to connect to the available wallet.

If the token you want to swap is not listed on there you have to go to etherscan and find that token's contract address and put the address there when it asks you to "select a token" on swap page and if the token exists it will automatically give you the name of the token and you can just add it by clicking on it.

How do I get the coin do I make an account or just sync a wallet to the account and if so will coinbase wallet do

You don't have to make a new wallet if you already have one of the supported wallets including coinbase wallet and you can choose coinbase wallet by clicking on "connect to a wallet".

Coinbase app wallet I never used to connect to uniswap.  Therefore, I cannot guarantee this.
I think the safest way to avoid any transaction errors is to use Metamask.  Just create a wallet on your Google account, then access Uniswap and connect easily. Choose a safe way to not lose money bro, hope you will make a profit with many good Defi projects there.

I've never use UNISWAP yet, but I am planning to use this because of the trend I heard about this. But my question is using UNISWAP do I need to connect my metamask only not MEW? Second, if ever I connect my Metamask wallet, do I need to have an ETH balance in it so that I can able to use Uniswap?

Uniswap is instant exchange market when do you wanna buy or sell coin, there are not space for spot order when do you wanna try put order lower than market or selling higher than market price, you should buy or sell depend with market price if not you failed to sell or buy coin on uniswap, but you have extra double fee when using uniswap depend how much gass fee transaction needed, if you wanna use this exchange better checking with https://ethgasstation.info/ to know how much faster and normal fee transaction to make your order success because if you use under rule you will lost your eth as fee transaction and can't process for selling or buying, but there are have many new coin on Uniswap could give you much profit, just for higher salary is better if wanna use uniswap exchange market.

I remember that the first time I use Uniswap, I was confused. It’s simply because we need to pay more than one kind of fee. First is that when I use WalletConnect to scan the QR code, it needs me to pay a fee for authorizing a swap process. And then, when we do the actually swapping, we have to pay both gas fee and cover liquidity fee of the token as well. I was confused at first, and now it’s easy despite the swapping, liquidity and gas fees for initiating a swap process.

Bit the coin I want isnt listed on coinbase or appears in uniswap drop down menu for swapping just the the pairing chart
 https://info.uniswap.org/pairs
You can't trade bitcoin in Uniswap exchange because its a decentralized exchanges so it will only support the same chain conversion, simply to trade ethereum based tokens. Even I too see the Youtube tutorials about how to use Uniswap after their Airdrop hype but I haven't used it since I am not trading much of tokens and also high fees on Uniswap which is going to eat fee more than your profits.

If the problem still ongoing and you can not do that correctly then I will suggest you search for it on youtube where you can see many tutorial videos. And this will help better IMO.
And one thing if the total token value will a lower like 10$ then you should avoid it to trade on uniswap because to make a succesful trade on uniswap genarally it cost 7-20$ even more in eth.

Always  you can not find the token on the pair list, you may need to add it by using contract address of that token.

Honestly it is not prime for usage just yet, not with ethereum prices this way. I wanted to use it and it didn't work very well, it required me to pay as much as 7 dollars at one point, and it moves between 1.8 dollars to 3.2 dollars generally, which is why I think it is not really ready to use.

The idea is amazing and it will be something huge in the future, when people can pay with under 25 cents it will be something very valuable, it has a great future. However, I am looking at today and how it could help today and I can tell you that it shouldn't be this great and huge with these transaction fees, there must be plenty of people who do not use it because of high fee just like me, when the fee's becomes lower, it will get a lot bigger.

You cant find any coin or token on drop down menu since maybe its a new token. Also please be remininded that uniswap only list erc20 tokens and not other blockchain. Usually what you need to do is add the smart contract of that token to view it.

How do I get the coin do I make an account or just sync a wallet to the account and if so will coinbase wallet do
Using coinbase wont do. You need to use any noncustodial wallet that has been supported by uniswap. Its a dex and you need to login via this way. Its not going to accept or import coinbase wallet.

Just download some wallet like metamask, mew, imtoken, or trustwallet and you can use that for trading that token. If your funds in on coinbase then simply bought eth then transfer it there on your own created wallet.

Coinbase Wallet will do the work. Just goto Dapp browser on the coinbase wallet and goto Uniswap exchange link.
Then search for the coin at info.uniswap.org. Click on the pair you prefer and click on trade.
You should be able to swap any coin in your waller to the coin. Do you know where the coinbase wallet browser is?
