Twitter is filled with state sponsored trolls and other paid shills.  I'm sure they have a heavy influence on price direction or they wouldn't be doing it in the first place.  This market is still really unpredictable though, you never know when a whale will decide to buy or sell a large amount.
At least when they want to pump some coins, someone who influenced will announce in their twitter, whether get paid or not, it can make good and bad affect for people, especially who always panic.

Social media has an important influence on people's decisions, but I can’t say that it totally controls feelings and prices. Twitter has a major place on social media. Thus, researchs on the correlation between price and searches confirm this situation.

Twitter is one of the most influential medium through which messages as related to crypto are easily disseminated.
There are lots of investors and potential investors that have accounts on twitter and depend so much on the info that get from it.
Once an influential personality on twitter who has lots of followers makes a tweet on any coin, it is either it makes that coin or it mares it.

Hi there,

I been curious about the same thing 2 years ago.
Twitter affects bitcoin prices? What about Google Trends? Reddit ? And Bitcointalk?

There is a correlation between the amount of talk around specific coin to the movement of the coin.
If you will figure out how exactly it influence the price is not enough, because you will also need to track the whales wallets because they influence the price many times and than the community tweet about it, getting the trend even bigger:)

Hello guys!

Twitter is only a media that used by someone when they get information about cryptocurrency, and I guess the function isn't far from Google and Facebook. The price of bitcoin or altcoin is greatly influenced by various information concerning cryptocurrency, each user or trader will use information as the main guideline when deciding to sell and buy.
It is not the social networks that increase the price, it is the people who have a great influence that increase the price. a vitalik twitter, someone from the Core, jian wu, John McAfee are different from many people without power.
Also agree with that, someone who has great popularity on economic growth will affect the movement of cryptocurrency prices, either it is about his positive stare on cryptocurrency or a negative stare on cryptocurrency. This is what causes the volatility of cryptocurrency prices, Twitter users are very numerous or even they use Twitter as a reference to decide to sell and buy.

Twitter has an influence on bitcoin, nowadays many users around the world have twitter and if the bitcoin promotion on Twitter can be as high as possible, many users will become investors and buy bitcoin, when the purchase of bitcoin is high, the increase in bitcoin prices will inevitably occur.

these guys:

Twitter will not have any effect for the price movement because in my view twitter is only a tool to carrying bad news or positive news and back again it all depend on the people who spread the particular news which make the price down or up so if the price starting to dropped we cannot blame social media because people who behind it already make the price difficult to up again

This is not 2010-2011 for social media to have great influence on bitcoin's price movements wherein by that time.

You have a point, but I won't agree with it. A simple tweet from a very influential personality  will change everything.

I thought that was before, when people don't notice that tweets of people like litecoin creator Charlie Lee affects litecoin's price.

I think as of today, people are aware. They think before they agree on a tweet. Thanks to Roger Ver.

have said many things, I'm just going to add a few things.

Imagine if any Core members were on twitter and said that bitcoin has a big bug and that people would lose their coins, what do you think would happen? the price would fall a lot.

imagine vitalik buterin on twitter and say that ETH has a big bug and that everyone would lose their coins, what do you think would happen? the ETH price would drop a lot

It is not the social networks that increase the price, it is the people who have a great influence that increase the price. a vitalik twitter, someone from the Core, jian wu, John McAfee are different from many people without power.

Twitter helps create a crowd effect. Therefore, I think that tweeting can influence the price of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

I think Twitter's influence is huge. As a provider of fast information, Twitter is very suitable for various promotional platforms including bitcoin. the indicator, the use of twitter is very interested in by various parties compared to other social media.

The use of social media can either make or mar the prices of bitcoin, it can mar bitcoin prices by posting wrong information online and it can make bitcoin prices by causing awareness to the public by raising the standard of bitcoin.

In my opinion Twitter can inflict some ups and downs of crypto prices but it doesn't affect Bitcoin in any major way. I've seen some posts that created big hype for some altcoins but not for Bitcoin.

people in this type of market, unfortunately, most of their investments without searching for twitter, facebook, such as the applications they are taking according to the discourse of the people they follow. A Twitter user who has 100k followers can increase his coin at least 2 or 3 percent on the smallest investment advice.

Bitcoin price has nothing to do with Twitter, but rather is a social media connection to spread information across the globe, which is even adding more value to bitcoin and new investors towards the community.
exactly, Bitcoin price can be affected by Twitter because of the ban of cryptocurrencies.. so the community will be more lesser and people will not have the news about Bitcoin and crypto, so automatically Bitcoin price will fall after a ban in one of the big social media in the internet.

Twitter is one of a social media where you can freely post your information. I think twitter does not affects the price of Bitcoin since it is only a social media where spreading of Bitcoin information is found.
