How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin ?
By the time 1
BTC sells for $1 mln., inflation will accelerate so much that $1 mln. can only buy a cup of coffee.
That is, of course, the effect on life will be noticeable, but I don’t think that it will be so significant for you.
I understand the sarcasm though but I humbly disagree with you on this because even with the current inflation across the globe, Bitcoin have remained like the anti-inflation currency.
See the inflation data of US from 2010 till date Value of $1 from 2010 to 2023
$1 in 2010 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1.41 today, an increase of $0.41 over 13 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.69% per year between 2010 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 41.15%.
This means that today's prices are 1.41 times as high as average prices since 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer price index. A dollar today only buys 70.922% of what it could buy back then.
The inflation rate in 2010 was 1.64%. The current inflation rate compared to last year is now 3.70%. If this number holds, $1 today will be equivalent in buying power to $1.04 next year. The current inflation rate page gives more detail on the latest inflation rates.
This shows that the rate of inflation is far slower than the rise of Bitcoin. In 2010,Bitcoin was just $1 in value and today the increase is beyond imagination as opposed to inflation that did not do up to 50% within the same time period.
Bitcoin rising to $1 mln will just be like moving from $1 in 2010 to over $30k in 2023 and this will not diminish much of the purchasing power of the dollar equivalent.
If you examine the possibilities, you don't need to look far to see it. Fixed supply and decreasing miners reward, everything points to the same thing.
But if you think about it seriously, with the price of a bitcoin at $1 mln., the significance of $1 mln. is much lower than it is now. If you look at films from 20-30 years ago, everyone in them hunted for $1 mln.. It was that elusive MacGuffin, the main goal for the characters in the films. Nowadays, no one will be surprised by $1 mln. At least in the movies.
I want to say that you overestimate the possibility of the influence of a bitcoin at a price of $1 mln. on your life, and also, this moment will not come soon.
You assess the influence of the bitcoin on life from the position of a speculative moment, while the significance of the bitcoin as electronic digital money, decentralized and possessing unique technical capabilities is incomparably more important and impressive. For this parameter, the current or future price rate has absolutely no meaning. But the impact on life is simply unimaginable.
