But better to give less amount to the class 1. Because I can expect a lot of the increase from there. The chart will be stagnant. WIll be better to put the more into the class 2. because you can try to use your logic. there is a possibility for the class 2 to be the class 1. and class 3 to be the class 2.
It seems very good idea to give every class proportionally. Just like 35:35:30.
That's my 2 cents.

35K in BTC
50K in mid range undervalued alts (those with proven developers that have already produced working functioning code of use above and beyond copy and paste of other projects ) these should have real use cases too.
15k in gambles with good chances of large returns

forget any new ICOS  unless they have fully functioning or near functioning products and not just dreams and talk white papers. Regardless of the dream teams and advisors on board.

I would also allocate some funds to promising ICO out there, so maybe 20% of it for ICO. Get in early, get the big bonses and dump while the price is still high. 50% for bitcoin and ETH, and 30% spreadout to the other coins on top ten in market cap.

Diversification of different potential crypto should be in place. having the big proportion for the BTC and ETH in folio. Make it Diversified with potential undervalued alts like verify, etp, and arn.

Investing $100k is a very nice amount.  Whatever you choose to do, avoid Class #3.  You do not want to invest in shady coins.  Always, research the team and make sure they are who they say they are.  Every investment carries some sort of risk but choosing one that looks shady is just throwing your money away.

Well $100k is really huge amount, I would choose the classes 1 and 2, buying the most popular and safe , and stable crypto currencies which have real potential , and having the highest prices and values. Also I would buy some amount of Bitcoin as another reserve.

I would divide into 3 classes equally. 33% for each class. Why would I do that? Each class can bring different profits and has different risks. Therefore, the third class can bring multiple returns in contrast to the more stable first class.

maybe $50,000 should be invested in all those altcoins that you know that they are never going to reach zero again, all those altcoins that have been on the top 25 for more than months, just like ethereum, monero, dash, litecoin, and so many others.
The other $25,000 maybe should be invested in those coins that you know that they might be bullshit, but still they are so good because you can make profit from them.
And the other 25k, i would jst invest them on bitcoin, it is the most safest thing to do.

Hi,

If you have $100K, which crypto would you spend it on? I have thought of this scheme where I set up 3 classes (categories).

Class 1: Safe prime coins
Class 2: Popular alt coins
Class 3: Risky/shady alt coins

Most investment goes to Class 1, i.e. 70K, 25K to Class 2, and the remaining 5K to Class 3.

So a few prime coins like BTC, ETH gets the most money. In Class 2, you might have a single coin you invest several thousands, but in Class 3, you spend $5K on 10-15 coins as they might crash or explode.

Is this a sensible idea? How would you portion 100K on various coins?

What's your own portfolio like? I assume there is no issue sharing this info.

Thanks in advance.
If I had 100k to invest in crypto I will avoid investing in risky altcoins and icos, after all 100k is a small fortune already, so I will invest in the safest coins out there, most of it will be invested in bitcoin and the rest in ETH, ETC, LTC and waves, with that amount of money there is not much of a point in taking huge risks, just buy safe coins and hold for a very long time.

70 thousand dollars on bitcoin, 20 on ethereum, and the other 10 thousand dollars will just go to waves, golem, lisk, monero, and some other altcoins that i might see possible to be on the top 10-20 in just a few months or years from the previous investment.
It is a nice portfolio, bitcoin is the one who is most rising so it deserves to have more than 70% of your portfolio, and the other 30% should be on alts, because alts are only going up when bitcoin tends to go down too, so that is a safe desicion to make.

I would go about 50-60% in class 1, 30-40% in class 2 and 0-10% in class 3.

The shady stuff is a very dangerous game and may not even be worth losing all over.

If i wanted to invest 100k usd I would probably divide my money like this:
50k to bitcoin
15k to waves
15k to oax
10k to iota
10k to dcr

I would do the same as you OP, but class 3 would be ICOs for me.

Class 1: Safe prime coins
Class 2: Popular alt coins
Class 3: Initial Coin Offerings

Class 1 with 70k, class 2 with 25k and class 3 with 5k. Class 1 will only hold BTC and ETH. Class 2 would have about 10 alt coins. And in class 3 I would spread it over 5 ICOs with 1k each.

60% to class 1, 35% for class 2 and the remaining 5% for class 3. Regarding altcoins I'd primarely focus on Waves, Lisk, Stratis and ARK which in my opinion currently are neither prime or shady. Those alts could play a major role in 2018 and thus be 'promoted' to class one!

For me, my portfolio is 60% BTC and 20% in altcoin under class 1, 10% in class 2 and 10% in class 3.

My portfolio is almost similar to your portfolio. For me, 70k to class 1, 20k to class 2 and 10k to ICO projects. Based on market situation, I will adjust the % accordingly. For example, before BTC fork, I will hold lesser % of BTC and get into altcoins in the dip.

My crypto portfolio is a bit different.
50% of mine has gone to Class 1. And now is about x2 profit.
10% has gone to class 2. And now is about x10 profit.
40% has gone to class 3. And still in x2 profit.

The most difficult thing is to distinguish between the class 2 and 3.
