This is pretty interesting but alot of hoops to jump through for some people.

I think there are probably some clever ways for service providers to step in and offer some alternatives, but of course there will always have to be some degree of trust there.

One could always print out the private key and stick it into a safe.

Great Info...

However, as I am not a wealthy man in bitcoins, I still use blockchain.info 's wallet, as it appears to be pretty secure to me.

If I however be wealthy in btc's, I will surely add more protection to my money.

Thanks.

What I do is cut and paste my private key on to a usb stick, take out the usb and insert it into an offline computer that I never use online, I then scramble my private key by swopping say the 15th character with the last character, copy the scrambled key onto another usb, swop the usb stick back to my online computer, copy and paste the scrambled key into my email, then email the scrambled key to myself on google mail, lock up the usb sticks and I got a backup in the cloud, I use btcbalence.net to keep a check my bitcoins
God I hope you never get Alzheimer's...  In fact, I hope I never get it either!
