As the coins are fungible I would like the name to reflrect that.

I started playing with an anagrams creator and found this anagram of fungible: Bionic Elf Guns (BEG). Somehow I get the feeling this name will not catch on...

So why not keep it simple: Change

The coins (down to the smallest unit) are interchangeable just like the change in your pocket. That right there is the strength of this coin (and all CryptoNote implementations for that matter). On the other hand it means adapting to the environment. We see Bitcoin becoming more and more mainstream, and with that becoming more regulated as well. The CryptoNote implementations are the natural product of this. The desire of community to stick to the principles of anonymity, decentralization and freedom of speech are reinforced in the protocol.

Of course variations are possible, although I don't like the standard adjectives;
- ChangeNote
- ChangeCoin

I suggest SecureBits or something similar.

For me, Security is above all what I'm looking for.

Secure in my privacy : anonymity is a must
Secure in my transactions : transaction fidelity is provable
Secure in my trust : distributed participation that precludes centralization of control

With the above platform, what am I not safeguarded against?  Sure, market demand may drive the value of the above currency to zero, but that has no bearing on the fact the infrastructure is worthy of use; is Secured.

The choice of the word bits isn't necessarily as copy-cat as it might sound either.  A bit is intrinsically a piece of something.  They can be added to together or broken down further.  A bit has been commonly used as a currency valuing term in various places across the world and is already a part of many people's lexicon.  Obviously there is the technical usage in the computer world.  I think in the end it works on lots of levels and can be pretty accessible to a wide audience be they lay or technical.

I know liberty was mentioned earlier, but I think liberty is only truly held after it has been secured and true liberty is simply the guarantee of being able to succeed or fail without undue external pressure.  That works on the market side of this coin, but I really don't like that meaning associated with the infrastructure.  It could just be me, but I would rather have a term that feels more like a an obstacle overcome, beaten and well, secured, than one that means I now have the opportunity to fight the battle to the best of my ability.  I don't think Liberty is as much achieved as it is lived in.

(edit: I kinda like the sound of SecureBlox too.  A Blox/Block is made of 'something', it has a perceived value, it is still associable with the tangible world yet isn't necessarily defined)

Here is my another suggestion

HermesNote: the note of Hermes, the God of Commerce and Traders

As you may know, Hermes is an Olympian god in Greek religion and mythology, now part of global culture symbol.

Why I suggest his name for the coin. There are several reasons:

+ Anonymity

Hermes is known for a God with Many Faces. It reminds you of the following features of CryptoNote-based crytocurrency: "CryptoNote implements the ring signature technology which allows you to sign a message on behalf of a group". In CryptoNote-based transaction, an user can be anyone in a set of users. He has many faces. Therefore, you never know who actually is who.

+ Transactions are untraceable

Hermes is known as trader protector, or god of commerce, trading. He plays a role of mediator between the worlds of the visible and invisible. It implies that Hermes's money transaction can be visible and invisible at the same time. Hermes will protect people who uses this currency. Therefore, his name makes a lot of sense

+ Fairness

God doesn't say lies. Hermes is the builder. He brings enrichment to people, not for himself.

+ This cryptocurrency is built to last

The cash of God will never cease to exist

E-notes
NetNote

NightNote
NightCoin

these when read out loud sound well. You want something that is appealing and obvious of what it is. The goal is to attract the General public, not just galvanize the already initiated in crypto currency. Regular joe-shmoe I think might prefer the first 2.

I think that we need a big name for such an innovative cryptocurrency.

+ No *Coin because it reminds me of Bitcoin clones
+ Bit* because of the same reason
+ No Byte* because it reminds people of 2 ByteCoin which is not a good idea
+ No *Penny because it implies something small
+ No Night or Dark or Shadow because this currency can be used in daily lives, not just in shady transactions
+ No Net* because we already have 2 NetCoin

The beauty of the underlying technology is

+ privacy (better than Bitcoin). It brings people more freedom
+ fair launch is about liberty too. No one is forced to do bad things. That's why every people in the world is seeking for freedom. Freedom means better life
+ long term development? I think this coin is built to last. It is a visionary cryptocurrency. Should we take a look at Statue of Liberty in the US. It was designed a French. France is a kingdom of liberty. Vladimir Nabokov published his masterpiece Lolita there. Without France, our people will never ever have a chance to read this masterpiece. People who believes in liberty in France also brings us an extremely controversial masterpiece at that time. I believe freedom will bring us a better life, better world which Statue of Liberty conveys in the physical world. Should this coin convey the same message in this cyberworld?

I suggest that this coin should imply the beauty of liberty and freedom. I like something with "Note" because it reminds people of bank note or cash. That's why I suggest
