I am planning a new improvement: to give only 1 or 2 referral links instead of 5, which won't expire until referrals deposit more than the amount deposited on your account (whole amount if it will be one link, half that amount if they are 2 links). This way, the more one deposits, the longer lasts his link. Links would not expire if someone creates an empty account. It would be nice to hear your opinions.
Great idea (in my opinion) to have just one link.
To be clear, the idea is that if I open an account with
BTC30, then I get 1 link that works until the sum of all my referral's deposits are >
BTC30? At that point the first link dies, and I get a new link that works for the next
BTC30 of referrals. Right?
This would be great because there is then a (small) incentive to deposit more
BTC since you can save yourself some of the work associated with changing and updating referral links.
Another idea: Have you thought about placing a cap on the total returns for an account? For example, you could cap the total returns for any single account to
BTC1 or 100% (whichever is greater). Once the cap is reached, then rewards would skip up the pyramid as far as needed to reach an account that still had 'room' to accept them (even jumping through dead accounts if needed*). That kind of structure would increase the incentive to open a big account and keep it active.
* - edit - I realized after I wrote this that it might create the incentive for people to create a bunch of accounts with 1 Satoshi in them... To avoid that, only accounts with an initial deposit deposit >
BTC1 should be eligible to "catch the skipping rewards" and then only up to a maximum return of 100%.
