Watch the movie first. Then read the book.

Don't read the book.

Any suggestions if someone don't want to be disappointed in the Bitcoin Magazine?

Sure, don't watch the Bitcoin Magazine movie.

Just got back from the midnight showing of Hunger Games.  Good movie, but falls way short of the book.
I'm going to see it soon, but in my experience, the movie NEVER lives up to the book.

Kids (and adults) need to read more... Sad

Lord of the Rings wasn't too bad.

Worst movie ever!  (comparing book and movie that is.. Lotr was a good fantasy movie, but a shame to compare it to the book..)

Michael Crichton books always make good movies...

Anyway.. going to watch that movie sometime when it comes out on DVD - just ordered the book

Who liked the Forest Gump movie? Who liked the book? That's right.

I read all three books in a week and a half, I just couldn't put them down. I'm seeing the movie later this week with a few friends. From what I hear the movie has lots action but doesn't focus on the emotions enough.

Fight Club movie completely destroys the book.

Another great example! I was thrilled with HBO's "translation" of Game of Thrones as well, even though that's not technically a movie.

Game of Thrones (TV) is amazing. Never got a chance to read the books though, never knew about them before I started watching it.

Hmm read the book series awhile ago, they were very good.  Will have to check out the TV remake of it.

It's 99.9% faithful to the book. It's like they're trying to single-handedly make up for every disappointing TV/movie book translation I've ever seen.

I heard this movie was amazing. I am thinking about seeing it. Just I don't know because I didn't read any of the books so I don't know what it's about at all.

I should probably qualify my claim by saying that;

"Most movies are not as good as the book."

YMMV

While I agree with you wholeheartedly, there are a few exceptions to that rule. The Road and Let The Right One In are some recent examples where the movie was even better than the book. We'll just have to see about this one.

The only one I can think of is Green Mile.  The movie is better.
