Downloading the chain is extremely painful and the official QT can sometimes pause for short durations, although it's not like it used to be.

Apart from blockchain download, MithrilMan Edition client has no performance issues.

We are working on the issues, and hope to implement blockchain pruning soon.

This coin has been around awhile and is at least something totally new.  When I checked it it seemed quite laggy and you need some HUC to start "playing" but it seems to have some real potential.  At least it has some "intrinsic" value if you enjoy the HUC game/mining.

Major Changes - Read On

A Crypto Currency with a difference:

Although it's possible to mine Huntercoin (merged mined) with both SHA256 and Scrypt Hardware (dual Algo), the majority of the coins are distributed inside a Virtual Reality known as Chronosius.
This opens up the ability to mine coins to almost anyone.

Huntercoin is the first human mine-able coin -(Proof of Play? as others are terming it)
It may be considered the first decentralized MMOG (that i could see -- correct me if i'm wrong - i see people talking about them but not any in practice).
less important>> The first crypto to incorporate both sha256 and scrypt for mining with hardware, of which both algos are Merge Mine-able.

Changes
If all goes according to plan:

On Block 255k - Every Player on the Map will be poisoned and die over the next 50 blocks. "The Cleansing" aka "Poison disaster".
Creating a new player miner (aka General) will cost 10 HUCs.
You will start with only 1 general (although you can create as many as you want at 10 HUCs each).
You can collect hearts on the Map as you can now, which will allow you to control 1 additional "hunter" with the general that collected the heart.
After block 255k, Disasters have a chance of happening every block 1 day after the last disaster, with an increasing chance of a disaster until 12 days, of which a disaster will happen.
Hold control + click for multi click waypoints.

This may be an opportunity for new players to get some coins.

Issues:
Downloading the blockchain can take a few days.
It's recommended you use an SSD.
Chain is currently 12GB in size

These issues will be addressed in time (they are being worked on).

You can download split-zip from mega, or a single zip from my hosting (although you should only use this if you have issues with mega).
