i had a short conversation with the dev today...but the discord really looks silent and there is a user spamming all channels about the coin beign a scam...surely not a nice atmosphere :S

Bad news. Dev sold masternodes not publicly, but through private messages. After that, he stopped responding to any user messages. Most likely the coin is dead and all those who extracted it "threw".
Where have you found this info ? on discord ?

The announcement and website says that you are using ZeroCash in Hydra, but there's only DarkSend / CoinJoin implemented in the source code.
