I have a question regarding POS:
why a smaller block with weight of 5100 and age of 10.08 stakes first and another one (twice so big) with age of 11.9 and weight of 13500 struggle for 3 days to stake and........nothing? Sad

the coins with 13500 weight have 2.6x more chances of staking than the coins with 5100 weight but luck still plays a factor

id like to think of it this way... you need to get a score of 25000

you roll a 10sided dice and the weight is the multiplier

the smaller block rolls a 5
5 * 5100 weight = 25,500

the bigger block rolls a 1
1 * 13500 weight = 13,500

the smaller block get a score > 25000 and finds a block

Exactly. This is where the lottery analogy helps explain it a bit. If there is a lottery with 10,000 tickets and I have 7,500 of those tickets, then I have 75% chance of winning that lottery. But since a lottery is random, someone that only has 1 ticket can still win.

So statistically you have the best chance to stake with a large weighted block, and 7/10 times this will stake before the other blocks, but like istvandv said, there is luck involved.

in PoS, the target score is the difficulty

Using the HYP richlist, I’ve seen some very encouraging figures.
http://hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com/rich

Basing the average price of HYP at 4000 SAT, we can say that:

  • Over 200 wallets have 1BTC or more held in them

  • This rises to nearly 500 wallets when looking at 0.25BTC

    • Close to 900 wallets have over 1,500 HYP – roughly the amount needed to stake successfully.
Whilst some people will have more than one address, personally, I believe it shows that the spread of HYP throughout the community is widespread.
Taking the top 20 wallets, which hold approximately 8.1m HYP, this accounts for just under 30% of the total supply of HYP in circulation, however a number of these wallets seem to be “lost”, having never staked in the time HYP has been around.

Personally, I think you’ll see the top 20 wallets slowly decrease in their % hold of the market, as owners are selling off their interest gained, and the top 5 wallet holders are proving to be great ambassadors of HYP by donating massively towards giveaways, faucets, and other initiatives.

im just trying to collect more coins to stake them, so you will have more stake wallets comming Wink  ( i hope )

In dreamland; he awaits you.
We do also have a few Raspi wallet releases https://github.com/presstab/HyperStake/releases/tag/v1.0.6

There is a problem with these releases on up-to-date Raspbian.

Edit: Problem solved, check your permissions on data (.HyperStake) directory ! Smiley

I asked this a couple pages ago, but I don't think I got an answer. Is it possible to set up a rasp pi staking config? If so, how? If anyone could point me in the right direction it be appreciated.

You can try this tutorial

I would like an android wallet, but unfortunately i know next to nothing about Android compilation and the android wallet organization. It is completely different from the traditional client code. So in order for me to make one it would take a lot of time to get used to the peercoin android code and then figure out all of the differences between ppc and hyp.

Added custom change address to Stake For Charity https://github.com/presstab/HyperStake/commit/29e965ce628ec9f709d8ca99e97feab37388f329 (hat tip Tranz & HBN)

This will be very useful for those using S4C that don't want there stakes to split into change addresses.

run rpc command keypoolrefill 500 or even higher like 1000+. (Can take a bit of time)
Then take backup. You will be safe for a good while.

it's important for who have 1 or 2 address on wallet ?

Backups are important for everyone. How often you take a backup depends on how often you send coins, including S4C.

My post it mean about use command "keypoolrefill 500 or 1000" it's important for who have 1 or 2 address on wallet ? not include normal backup.
I backup wallet.dat (File->Backup Wallet) everyday and Core backup (C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\HyperStake) every 2 days.
it's enough? , I never use S4C option.

Wallets contain many more than 1 or 2 address. The rest are just hidden and reserved.

If all you do is stake, then a weekly backup is more than enough.
Thank you Tranz.
