Once you make a significant profits from your Bitcoin holding you can take profits and stop being greedy because at some point you need to build between the gap of satisfaction and investing,  because what you can afford for a long term can also be achieved within short term also because the level of your profitability depends on your market analysis.

One can hold Bitcoin for a long term and still not make good profits, amd another ca n buy in a short term position and still make a good profits.

As a beginner to this bitcoin market, I have understood that long term investing and holding is most beneficial to investors that short term holding.
But I being a beginner, I might not be affordable to hold too long because I have read about investors holding their coins for over 4 years.
Although I might be reprogrammed to long term investment in the future but I need to be practically convinced in reality based on what the market hold for Investors on long term and short terms.
As being speculated of all cryptocurrencies, they are all volatile so I am set to take my profits whenever I can and then the outcome potentials while I am Investing in this bitcoin industry would determine if I will have to hold for long. I don't think I will listen to all that advices of holding longer. We are only here to make profits and face our today's challenges and also prepares for future challenges. So I don't think that investors on the short term goals are at the wrong side because the Speculation of long term holding is excessively making it feel like short term Investors are on the wrong decision
It's not necessary to hold Bitcoin long-term. To my mind, the best approach is to focus on catching the best moments instead of holding them like a gold stone. I can tell you my personal experience. I held Bitcoins from the 2017 year till the 2020 year. Then, when the price started rising and reached a certain high level, I decided to sell my coins. Then I saw the opportunity that buying and holding of BNB would be the best bet for a high ROI, which I did. I sold and bought BNB multiple times but sold them finally when the price reached 600 USD. Then I thought that the market would crash because the price was significantly pumped up and I risked and opened a short position on futures against BNB at 600 USD. At first, I was frightened because BNB went up to 700 USD but then gladly, soon there was a huge crash because China banned Bitcoin mining and at the same time, Elon Musk made a negative announcement about Bitcoin. So, my short position gave me a great profit but soon I closed it and then invested in Matic because there was a big opportunity, this coin was rising despite the fact that Bitcoin and altcoins were falling.
Long story short, this is not the right path and is full of extreme moments, my head was exploding with excessive thoughts during those times. That's why I prefer long-term, just sit, relax and wait.

Well, that's your thinking, and everyone has different thoughts when it comes to investing. Whether it is a short-term or long-term investment, as long as you feel that it is successful in making you a profit, then it is the right thing for your investment. However, people who hold the opinion that long-term bitcoin investment is best also have their own reasons. Personally, I am a long-term investor, but it all comes back to the prevailing circumstances and existing information.

That's right, it's not that one of the investment options is more profitable and one is less, it all depends on several factors such as your buying and selling times, your capital, market understanding, and a bunch of other things.

Those who have been in the market for quite some time and understand it very well wouldn't have any problem with short-term investments or trading because they would know when is the right time to buy and when it is to sell. On the other hand, those with less experience and understanding would simply buy and hold for long term because that doesn't need a lot of speculation and market understanding.

Someone who has knowledge, experience, and money, can do both without a problem.

Nobody is saying that short term investment cannot be profitable for you but the chances of making that huge sum of money you’re anticipating to get when you put your money into bitcoin can only be realized if you keep them for a long term. The market is volatile and moves to any direction it wishes at anytime, but it is certain that after some certain period of time, a time will come that it will be on the upward trajectory that will be beneficial for all. That period doesn’t last long and it’s the bull period.

Between the bear season and bull season, a lot of changes happen when bitcoin can go up or come down within a short period, those are the times some short time investors get their profits from the investment and due to the high risk of volatility and been in the bearish period, that is why it has been advise to stick to long term investment rather than the short time the will make your investment worthless.

And no one is saying OP is wrong in choosing short-term investments, but we need to admit that long-term investments bring more benefits. We have heard many stories about people becoming rich through bitcoin but most of them are long term investors, there are no stories about people becoming rich or making huge profits by investing short-term investment in bitcoin.
Or like in recent days, bitcoin's fluctuations have a wide range and from statistics we can see that hundreds of millions of dollars are liquidated every time bitcoin fluctuates.

I also know many traders but I don't see anyone making profits in recent days. Of course, long-term investors cannot make profits with the current market situation either, but at least they don't lose money and their money is still intact. Short-term investing sounds attractive because we can make money immediately, but things don't work like that, short-term investing is like a trap for the market to take our money faster.

Basically everyone invests for profit whether short or long term but the long term results of investing in Bitcoin are relatively good. You can expect 2x or 3x your profit with long term investment here long term means 4-10 years but you may need to hold longer. However, it may take less time to get your desired profit. I myself prefer to be in a long-term approach to just accumulating bitcoins which is a simultaneous holding.
It is true that choosing to survive in the long term in investing in Bitcoin is certainly very good, but to be able to survive in the long term of course we must first be prepared in terms of the capital we invest because it is very unlikely that we will be able to invest in the long term if we do not have be careless in terms of capital because it could be that when the investment is underway, we will need these funds and we don't have other funds so we have to take what we have invested, regardless of the circumstances and if the price is above when we buy it, of course it won't be a problem. However, if the price is below us, of course we will experience a loss on the investment we are carrying out and for some people who decide to invest in the short term, of course they must always be able to analyze market conditions well so they can know when is the right time to buy. and also sell them to be able to gain profits from the investments they make.

You know what brother? just do your own thing and what you're planning as you invest in Bitcoin. It doesn't matter whether you hold for the long term or you short it for profits.

Yes, we're all here for profits but it doesn't matter what your strategy is and that's based on your studies and patience as well.

Don't compare yourselves to the others. If we're going to hold for long term, what is it for you? we don't just go with the crowds, we're doing this because that's our plan and we know what we are doing.

You are right, comparing yourself to others is one of the reasons why some people fail in some of what they are doing to succeed, don’t compare yourself with others in times of investing or anything’s, we invest to increase the money that we have and we invest to make a profit, is not important for you to invest to hold your bitcoin for a long period, you can invest and sell your coins at any time but just make sure that you make a profit from your investment or you don’t lose when you want to sell your coins because investing without no profit and you still lose some money when selling your coins is not a good investment, it means you just invest to lose money.

Not everyone can hold Bitcoin for a long period and that is why everyone has access to his wallet you are free to sell your tokens at any time you want but make sure you sell at the time when you will earn a profit because selling your coins without having any profit is like you just waste your time to invest and you won’t like it anymore because you will be thinking the last time you invest you don’t have any profit and you will feel bad that even if you have someone that wants to invest you will not advise him to invest in bitcoin.

As a beginner to this bitcoin market,

Do you know why most people give long-term investment advice to others, especially newbies like you? That's because long-term investing only requires basic knowledge, without too much pressure, less risk, and more guaranteed profits. Meanwhile, short-term investing requires more knowledge, more pressure, and you take more risks. As a newbie, do you think you have enough knowledge and experience about this market? If you are confident about yourself, you can try with the strategy of your choice because it is your money.

Additionally, newbies often ignore other people's advice and just follow what they think is right. So for newbies, I think it's best to let them experience the market for themselves, the market will teach them what is the best method of making money in the market.

Long-term investment may be true for bitcoin, but if they start exploring the alts market, they should do their homework of learning this market because most of them can be short-lived. This is also the reason why, newbies are being advised to learn the bitcoin market first, because we can say, btc won't disappear overnight. Unlike with alts, they have the tendency to exit the market without prior warning.

There are several factors that you need to consider before jumping in any alt market -
> actual developments of the project
> sincerity of the dev team to accomplish their objectives, how they are implementing their milestones
> communication with their stakeholders, followers, subscribers
> significance of their services, without solid use case - hard to sustain their presence in this market

I also invest in altcoins, but in my opinion, newbies invest in altcoins, it only shows that they want to gamble and not invest, so giving advice is useless.
Altcoins are speculation, or to put it bluntly, investing in altcoins is gambling and there are no rules or formulas by which we can guarantee that they can last until we make a profit.

Your advice is quite useful for those who want to invest in altcoins. But we need to remember that even if an altcoin has all those elements, there is no guarantee that it won't die before we reap the profits. Luna's lesson is still there, it entered the top 10 altcoins but collapsed and wiped out more than 60 billion in capitalization in just 2 weeks.

Going for short term or long term investment in bitcoin is a matter of choice. You can go for the one that you feel more comfortable with and more suiting to you that you can hold on to. Short term investment are making people rich as well as the long term investment. The risks involved in them both differs and that is what has distinguished them from one another. If you’ve calculated the risk and can take on short term investment which we all know is more risky, then go on with your investment in that manner. It all have to do with what you’re afford to sacrifice and put into the investment until it reaches the time to take your profit out from it. All those are candid advice given to go for long term investment because of the little risk involved in it, but if you want to take on the short term investment with the plenty risk in it, then no one will stop you because it’s your money and you’ve made up your mind to face the outcome of it.

Its not for everyone, especially those who cant stomach a little risk. The day traders arent the true winners here, though. They see the big picture. They are aware that there are other aspects of Bitcoin than simply getting quick money.

Bitcoin is about trust. Its about removing the middlemen and giving the people control once more. People, its a revolution; you can either join it or get left behind. Long-term ownership of Bitcoin goes beyond simple asset investment. Your investment is in yourself. You are funding a future in which the system functions for you rather than against you.

This is no quick-rich scheme. This is about development of the individual. Its about seizing charge of your financial future. It has to do with trusting something greater than yourself. Thus ignore the noise. Think long term. It will, I promise, turn out to be the best investment you have ever made.

You know the answer to your question is OP. What do you want to know and convey to the forum community here on this platform? Yes, it is true that we are all here to make a profit, and most of them believe that they can make a profit in Bitcoin, while others believe that they can make more profit in other top altcoins.

That means it depends on the beliefs and research done by the individual who is here in the crypto industry field. Just don't imitate others who just ride on what others say or just believe the promises they hear about a cryptocurrency asset.

Investing in long term does not mean whether you are beginner or not but your financial capability is the one will determine investment goal. And if you have an inflow income income then you can invest foe a long term and not for the short. Though as the market is in the correctional stage now, you can invest in the short term. And the best time to buy was the time when bitcoin is at the $64k.

And now is the best time. In bitcoin investment you also follow your mindset to invest because the price is unpredictable.

I like how you’re being honest with your opinion but, the problem here is you can actually get short term profit when dealing with other cryptocurrencies not bitcoin. We can all agree some coins are not meant for long term holding so this is where you always need to target the market and sell immediately you notice an increase. If you should include bitcoin now I guess you might get something different in most cases when dealing with market or in terms of buying back and meeting up with previous price prediction etc, bitcoin investment is different from my understanding but if you insist best wishes.

Two years ago, I decided to hold my bitcoins. But you know what happened? I sold them all to start my shop. Now, I am considering setting aside part of my income for a second time to invest in Bitcoin. The decision to make a short-term or long-term investment depends on your financial situation.
If in the process of carrying out an investment you suddenly decide to withdraw your funds again for your personal needs, of course there is nothing wrong with that, but when you decide to hold Bitcoin again, it would be better for you to have a good plan first so that it can survive in the long term. because if we don't have good preparation it will certainly be very difficult to survive in the long term, if we still sell at the price we bought it of course this won't be a problem and if when we need funds and market conditions are declining of course this will be very harm us.

If you look at the price chart of Bitcoin, it's very clear that, at least so far, it has a strong upward long-term trend. It rises, then it loses over a half of its value, but then it eventually recovers and rises even higher. At the same time, it's worth noting that while its marketcap is growing significantly and the same goes for the price, the multiplier seems to be getting much smaller. For instance, between 2013 and 2017, BTC grew from $1k to $20k, so it was 20x growth. But between 2017 and 2021, it grew from $20k to $67k, which is a little over 3x growth. Then from 2021 to 2024 it grew from $67k to $73k, which is very mild (but perhaps that's because the bull market hasn't hit properly yet). You need to account for that when investing.
As for short-term holding, it can go very well but also very poorly because Bitcoin tends to have long bear markets, lasting for several years.
