I could not image myself in that situation just throwing away Bitcoin because at that time the value was so low and then fast-forward 2021 I then see that the value has already reached the stratosphere -- I could have then sleepless nights just thinking of how my life could have been changed for good with the money. Anyway, good thing it never happened to me. Happy to note that BurtW still have some Bitcoin left, and maybe he can still consider himself to be really rich and lucky.
You can't imagine because you can see the current prices and what you are imagining is throwing away 40k USD not 1 USD. Why would you have sleepless nights about things that happened in the past, hypothetically you throwing those coins in the past is not something to regret, you didn't know the prices will skyrocket, what you are feeling would be hindsight.

I do not think that address ever had 2562.90203395 that is how much it received over 225 transactions to that address.

We used to throw 100 BTC at a gambling site in those days.  I remember paying 25 BTC for a couple of cases of Girl Scout cookies on a whim just to support the "Bitcoin economy".  I spent or lost a lot of BTC in my time.

I have some left, not 2000 BTC, but I managed to keep a few.
Imagine the simple times when everyone just throws bitcoins on something on a whim, everyone right now would be freaking out because they know the current value of bitcoin but they disregard the fact that back then it was just small amount. It is a good thing that you still have some bitcoin. Congratulations on your win though.

The recent reply on the thread indicates that bytcoin is not the owner of the address, so I don't think you're getting your $170 million any time soon. Sadly, all those brainpower used for the solving of this puzzle comes to naught, unless of course if you can sweep the private key before anyone else can. At this point, that's the only way you can claim the reward, and forcing the OP to give you something is futile.

I remember buying chili sauce from a user in reddit back in the days to, amounting to 2 BTC. Those 3 bottles of chili sauce only lasted me a good few meals, and thinking about that purchase, I still can't believe that I would have been $100k richer had I just not gave in to the urge of buying that bottle of chili.

Still a good purchase though. First time I used bitcoins in a real-world transaction.

Instant cryptocurrency exchange with own reserves!
Wow, the answer sounds plausible, good luck to you!
The problem is that I don't really understand the concept here, is this Bytcoin a name of person or is a typographical errors from someone, you are congratulating, applauding while some person's don't grab the concept very well, now if we are emphasising on been Bitcoin price let be plain or specific via it so others will grab the concept very well.

The prize was offered in this thread:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-puzzle-335000-btcs-5321454

Unfortunately, he locked the thread before I could claim the prize  Angry but I have the solution for the prize !!!

From each message we can derive the z value (hash of the message) so:

First message and signature (m, r, s, z)
Second message and signature (m', r', s', z')

Therefore:  ks = z + rdA and k's' = z' + r'dA

Therefore:  (sk - z)/r = (s'k' - z')/r'

But in this case k' = 2k so:

(sk - z)/r = (2s'k - z')/r'

So all you have to do is solve for k.  All the other values:  s, z, r, s', z', and r' are all known.

rr'(sk - z)/r = rr'(2s'k - z')/r'

r'(sk - z) = r(2s'k - z')

r'sk - r'z = 2rs'k - rz'

r'sk - r'z +rz' = 2rs'k

k = (r'sk - r'z +rz')/2rs'

Once you know k you can simply calculate the private key, dA = (sk - z)/r
