What happens if I have some black friends who don't understand crypto? Would it be fair for me to say that black people find crypto difficult to understand? No.

The only thing you could factually say here are there are far more men involved in bitcoin than women, the rest is mostly just ignorance.

Well, as you said, my previous point of view is indeed inappropriate. I take back what I said. Sorry.
I have been using my limited crypto knowledge to try to help a variety of friends around me (regardless of gender), I don’t treat anyone differently. I always want more people to know Crypto.

No, this is not gender discrimination.

No, it really is.

I am only objectively speaking, because most female investors around me understand Crypto is difficult.

You're not being objective. You're being selective. Are the females around you the entire population of the world? No.

Including my sister, some of my female friends, although they also invested in Crypto, but until now they can not understand the Crypto / blockchain, this is a fact. We all have this experience. Why can't we admit this fact?

Maybe your sister is just an idiot? You ever thought about that? What happens if I have some black friends who don't understand crypto? Would it be fair for me to say that black people find crypto difficult to understand? No.

There are also a few girls who are better at crypto than boys, but this is not common.

This wasn't the argument. You said there are too many abstract concepts for women to understand and that they find knowledge more difficult. Maybe the women around you do, but I'm sure there are many abstract concepts you also don't understand.

The only thing you could factually say here are there are far more men involved in bitcoin than women, the rest is mostly just ignorance.

For girls, there are too many abstract concepts in Crypto to understand. Usually, girls understand this knowledge more difficult than boys,

Good to see that blatant sexism is alive and well. You forgot to mention how women's brains are a third of the size of men's.

Your point of view is obviously taken out of context,I don’t have the meaning you said at all.

For girls, there are too many abstract concepts in Crypto to understand. Usually, girls understand this knowledge more difficult than boys, so you need more effort and ask some knowledgeable members of the forum. I believe that they are willing to help you.
If you have any questions, you can take a look at this post. This old member is willing to answer any questions from newbie.
I've been active on these forums for almost 5 years now, and since the recent Bitcoin spike, there's been a lot of questions from newer community members in this alt-discussion forum. I experienced and been in many of the situations you have, along with many other veterans of the crypto world that linger here. It's ultimately my passion to share what i know, and assisting others with wisdom and insight.

< this full quote was completely unnecessary, and the practice is one of the board annoyances  >

you can start by being active in telegram groups.

This is terrible advice in my opinion, and it shows a lack of respect for the forum. I got the feeling that you are interested in the world of crypto, and this is now entering a new golden age. Taking part in low grade bounty programmes that rely on social media platforms that are facing increasing criticism and restrictions, is not the best use of your time in my opinion.

A few years ago, I would have suggested that you started by posting on the beginners' board, but that is now swamped by the Twitbook spammers. You can find some useful threads there, but it will take a bit of hunting. The technical support boards are useful to learn about Bitcoin, and there are some basic threads there. Serious discussion and Ivory Tower are also useful boards for you to read. Probably the best place for you to spend some initial time is on your local board, and I have met some interesting and helpful posters from there. Flying Hellfish has done a great job in cleaning the Political board, and you could practice your English by discussing the political situation in your country on that board.

Your English is certainly of a high enough standard to post on the English boards. You could improve the structure a little to speed up reading by the speed readers here, and you will find yourself doing this as you become an active and valuable member of the forum. You can help this process by re-reading your post before you hit the post button, but I suspect you do that anyway.

Don't worry about being a girl, a lot of us like girls Smiley, and we want to attract more girls to the crypto world. We have several very competent and helpful girls who are members here. Shorena is one who springs to mind, and the recently joined Helana is another.

As you read, and partipate in discussions your knowledge should broaden, and you'll eventually be able to have your own unique input in discussions. I remember being overwhelmed when I first joined the forum. I wasn't particularly knowledgeable in Bitcoin itself, but had some knowledge. Plus, its the first, and only forum that I actually actively participate in. What I'm trying to say it eventually you'll beat the learning cure, and will be able to provide unique insights yourself, and eventually people will give you merit if you can post high quality posts.

I think most of the BCT members here are males and there are only few females here like me. I am not confident enough to get a good post and at the same time my english is also not that good. I worry with the current system that needs to get merit to rank up and probably i will be stuck on Jr. member rank. Well i guess do not have problem with that but the only thing is that everytime i saw a legendary account i feel intimidated from my post in english since i know that those member are really doing well. I am a Filipino native speaker specifically cebuana and i guess this is where my problem starts with low confidence. What do you think guys Am i will going to be alright here in the forum?
I am a Filipino too, keep in mind that you can do well if you keep it a mindset. I guess it's more intimading if you will speak in front of audiences full of Legendaries, overcome that fear even in just written communication. Read books it will improve your writings and  will give you more confidence.

anyway, why you need to rank up?
I remember that my reason for joining the forum was coincidental. My whole idea about Bitcoin was that it was used in porn and drugs, but over time I learned a lot.

Open a topic, search in Google, learn about it, repeat what you understand in the form of a reply.

It doesn`t matter. Your gender doesn`t determine your abilities. Treat other participants (without regard to gender) as people you can learn from, and treat yourself, as someone who a is capable of making a difference in the development of this forum.
I remember that a girl "or 15-years kid" was able to collect more than 100 merits and changed their name because of her gender.

I am also a cebuano, and I was criticized alot of times already because of not so being fluent in english. Therefore you don't have to be that good already when you were starting. As long as you can share the thought then that is fine. So always doing your research with regards to any topic is a must.

I would like to recommend joining Jet cash fit to talk english campaign. You will be redirected to other forum in which you can practice speaking english there.

Rank means nothing, most of the legendary and hero accounts on this forum got their rank by posting spam.

Pay no attention to account rank, look at trust and merit.

Stick to your local board if that will make you feel more comfortable.

Well i guess do not have problem with that but the only thing is that everytime i saw a legendary account i feel intimidated from my post in english since i know that those member are really doing well.

Being a Legendary account just means they've been posting here for a long time.

It did used to mean that, buy now new Legendaries will become gods amongst men around here as 95% of people will only be able to dream about getting the required merit to become one. Prior to the merit system all you needed to have done was post in 56 activity periods and then made the required posts (784+). These days with new users signing up the chances of them ever becoming Legendary is slim to none. Most people will struggle to achieve even Member rank without trading or buying the merit. Long live the merit system and may it ruin many lives  Grin.

I think most of the BCT members here are males and there are only few females here like me.

Op is probably a dude. Probably just hoping some white knights will come the rescue of a meritless maiden and toss "her" some free merits.

You will be alright dear, when I first joined forum I also felt intimidated. If you need confidence you can start by being active in telegram groups. Comment, and get connected with friends there. On Bitcointalk you can't really make friends ( although not impossible) most people are here strictly for business purposes. With time you can get to those ranks you admire, many of them have spent years on forum so if you do the same you will get ranked up too. As for the merit, just post useful and meaningful stuff those who find your post interesting will give you merit but don't hope much.

Your English can always be improved. If you comprehend the goal and try, you`ll succeed. For most users of the forum, English isn`t the mother tongue. Nevertheless, many of them write interesting and useful posts. You need practice and the desire to improve the level of your language.

I worry with the current system that needs to get merit to rank up and probably i will be stuck on Jr. member rank.

If your goal is not to earn tokens in bounty campaigns, then your rank isn`t fundamental. The only thing that matters is the quality of your work. Other participants look at the constructiveness and usefulness of your posts, and not what you have written under the name.

... the only thing is that everytime i saw a legendary account i feel intimidated from my post in english since i know that those member are really doing well

You don`t need to be afraid of participants with higher ranks. The forum is created so that everyone can express their opinion. You learn, and making mistakes is normal. The main thing is that you learn and draw conclusions from your mistakes. Members with high rank will help you if they see your efforts and desire to learn.

Just simple before you posting is :

- Dont be Lazy
- Research a lot for your idea and thing
- Use the Search field
- Dont Copy/Paste , if you doing that add the Source too
- Try to make Quality Posts/topics
- Read and learn from others
- you should know the Rules of the Forum

Just be yourself and Real and if possible help others

Your English is fine. What you should avoid is posting in megathreads in Bitcoin Discussion, Economics, etc. For example post #300-something:

What do you mean by bubble? Bitcoin does not pop out like bubble and if you are following market price movement you can see that bitcoin just move its market price up and down and does not pop out. And bitcoin is the best system for human history. There is no doubt that bitcoin will be going to write an history again.

There is no chance to earn merits with this and you're contributing to forum pollution. Post only in topics you're comfortable with and at the very least make sure you're not repeating something that has been said in the thread already, which pretty much excludes long threads like the above unless you want to read it all. Try to engage in discussions and provide fact-supported opinions, don't just reply to the thread title.

Don't worry about your English, don't worry about male/female, don't worry about being Filipino, don't worry about forum ranks, and don't worry about merits. None of it matters (well, English does but you're ok) unless you specifically decide to make a point of it.

Jesus, 4 replys while I wrote this..

It's a total mystery as to why...

You will be alright as long as you don't go against the rules or start spamming around like how others do. Not being totally perfect in English is not something that should make you feel intimidated from high ranked members. You can always improve your writing skills if you really want to, and if you really think you don't feel comfortable, you may as well keep learning until you learn to write English in a good manner and post only in your local language until then.

Besides all that, there are females in the forum, but they just don't come out and say it like how you did, because it doesn't really feel right. I'll be totally honest with you, that I almost felt like you are trying to use this thing in your favor in order to get some immunities by the community, which doesn't really happen, and which shouldn't really happen.

Best of luck, anyway.

There is no need that you need to know everything about crypto currency to post here, just do the contribution as much as you can and avoid spam if you don't have any idea about some topics as others said you can stick with your local board for a while but I think you have decent english writing skill which is enough to post in the main board as well but you need to know the basics from the beginner's section as well.

I'm quite curious to know why the Filipinos folks feel the need to state "I'm Filipino" that often.

Back to your question, nothing is going to be alright, but that is in fact the way it is in here  Grin
